Helldivers 2 players are requesting for the XO-45 Patriot Exosuit to be buffed by the developers, as it has been heavily criticized for its numerous issues and deemed as “unusable”by many.
The addition of the Helldivers 2 Exosuit to the game on March 8 came after the liberation of the Tien Kwan planet. Although there was much anticipation for these massive machines upon their release, the community’s enthusiasm soon waned as they discovered their susceptibility to damage.
Despite subsequent patches addressing the issue, Helldivers 2 players still feel that the Exosuit needs some improvements as there was a problem where the Mech’s hitbox would interfere with its own rockets, causing them to detonate prematurely.
One player shared their thoughts on the Helldivers 2 Reddit page about the XO-45 Patriot Exosuit, stating that they believe it is one of the weakest Strategems in the game. The main issue they highlighted is its poor precision, which makes it extremely challenging to hit enemies.
The Helldiver expressed frustration with the current state of the rocket pods. The aim is significantly off, causing rockets to miss their intended target even at a medium distance. Previously, firing a rocket at a Charger’s head or leg would result in a hit, but now the rocket veers to the left as if it is being fired from the center of the mech instead of the left side.
Helldivers 2 players think mechs could do with some TLC.
In order to address this problem, players must adjust their aim away from their intended target and anticipate their movements in order to successfully hit them. This not only makes the Exosuit cumbersome to use, but also increases the likelihood of frustrating deaths. As a result, players view the Patriot Exosuit not as a formidable weapon, but as a perilous trap for the Helldivers themselves.
The Patriot was my go-to weapon for fighting bugs for a considerable amount of time, and I made sure to bring it along on every mission. However, my excitement was dampened when the bot rocket damage and the self-destruction missile pod bug were fixed. Despite my anticipation, the patch ended up causing disappointment. The explosives fix for the bots unintentionally resulted in a significant decrease in missile damage for the mech. Even with the chargers no longer being able to instantly take down the mech, they still posed a significant threat.
The community is not only requesting for the developers to address issues with Mechs, but also pleading with Arrowhead to reduce the number of Warbonds after another disappointing release.
