Helldivers 2 is full of mysteries intended to assist players in their fight against the Terminides and the Automatons. Recently, a tip shared by a player could very well become your lifeline.
On Reddit, a player shared a video that proves that “Pelican 1 is a really good person.”In the video, the Helldiver fled the extraction zone after calling Pelican 1 to save him. Once it left the area, the extraction ship hovered through the air and began shooting bugs around the player, waiting for them to get close enough to the ship to land while protecting them.
Once the Helldiver is close enough to the extraction point, Pelican 1 lands and lets the players climb in, in order to continue the extraction.
It was only recently that the level 50 player discovered this technique. This can indeed prove vital for players stuck in an impasse and forced to flee the area precisely when the ship lands.

Naturally, players loved this new discovery. Many rushed to the comments to praise the ship itself: “A good guy and apparently also a damn good shooter. The brother makes his shots from a moving ship at like 300m.”
However, this wasn’t the first time players noticed the support, with many pointing out that the ship “comes to your rescue if you fail the mission and the super destroyer leaves, it provides fire support landing if you are not in the extraction zone” making the ship all the more useful.
Also, as pointed out by another commenter: “If the countdown goes down 20 seconds after boarding and someone is not on board but is like 5 meters from the shuttle, it will wait 5 extra seconds for it to go up,” proving how utterly charming Pelican 1 is.
Other players took the opportunity to come up with new Stratagems: “I would kill for a helicopter gunship stratagem where you call Pelican to come hover over an area and shoot at enemies for a while.”
Another echoed the commenter’s thoughts by adding: “It makes me want pelican stratagems or other combat helicopters. It would be so cool to call a bird to circle around a location and provide fire support for X amount of time.”
At this time, no information has been released on whether new Stratagems will be included in Helldivers 2. However, this does not rule out the possibility of seeing such additions in the future, including the possible arrival of a new faction.
