The upcoming Warbond in Helldivers 2, Polar Patriots, will include a variety of arctic-themed cosmetic items. However, the new Scout armor has received criticism from numerous players for a specific reason.
On May 9, 2024, players can expect the release of Helldivers 2 Polar Patriots Warbond. This highly anticipated update will feature a variety of new armor sets, weapon cosmetics, and weapons for players to discover and acquire. As the name implies, Polar Patriots centers around arctic warfare, with numerous unlockables boasting a wintry aesthetic.
The new CW-4 Arctic Ranger Scout armor set has left many players disappointed, as it has been three months since any new options were made available for Scout enthusiasts. The SC-30 Trailblazer Scout Armor was the last purchasable set, leaving fans eager for more updates.
As evident from the Reddit post below, the recently released CW-4 Arctic Ranger Scout appears to be almost identical to the SC-30 Trailblazer. The only noticeable change is in the helmet design, which now features an orange visor and lacks a cloak. In fact, some players have noted that it seems more like a reskin of the CW-4 rather than a completely new armor set.
The lack of variety for the game’s other classes is a disappointment. One Helldiver suggested grouping all armor with the same mod/armor class together in a dropdown, if that’s what they’re going to do.
“The players’ dissatisfaction is not solely due to the recolor, as it appears that the CW-4 Arctic Ranger set shares the same passive ability (Servo-Assisted) as previous sets, with only a few minor changes in color and design. While the added benefits of increased throwing range and limb health may have some utility, it may not be the most thrilling aspect for players.”
One commenter responded, “The best part is that this is the second consecutive Warbond without any new perk. I will not be purchasing this unless I am able to earn 1k SC in the next week.”It is evident that the CW-4 Arctic Ranger has left Scout players feeling neglected, so it is hoped that Arrowhead will introduce more distinct Scout armor in the upcoming update.
