Helldivers 2 Update Allows Players to Fly Temporarily

The latest update for Helldivers 2 has introduced a range of much-anticipated weapon buffs, feature enhancements, and enemy nerfs. Among these changes, players have been given a temporary ability to fly.

These adjustments have already received positive feedback from the community, as reflected in the growing player base. However, an unexpected feature has captured the attention of fans. A minor glitch has been found that allows players to utilize the Emote Key to achieve flight.

As mentioned on the HelldiversAlert X page, players can essentially spam the Emote Key while walking off a ledge, which will enable them to float in the air while moving forward. While it’s not quite the same as soaring like Superman, it does provide a safe escape from pesky Terminids.

It’s important to note, however, that while you’re executing this flying tactic through emoting, shooting or interacting with the environment is disabled, making it unwise to use this method over an Automaton base.

This technique appears to require a bit of skill to master, as demonstrated by a teammate struggling to take flight in the X video. Nonetheless, as shown in the clip, by continuously spamming the emote button (B on PC) while moving forward off a ledge, players can rapidly get the hang of this new movement style and traverse the map at an impressive velocity.

However, it’s crucial to remember that this is just a bug. Thus, while you can currently achieve flight using the Emote Key, it’s probable that the developers at Arrowhead Game Studios will patch this glitch in an upcoming hotfix or update. Therefore, make sure to enjoy this flight ability while it lasts.

Fortunately, even when the glitch is fixed, players will still be able to utilize a Jetpack Stratagem, offering a legitimate way to gain elevation in Helldivers 2. Although this Stratagem might not be the most popular option, it will always provide a means of flight when needed.
