Helldivers 2’s latest Warbond, Chemical Agents, marks the introduction of premium battle passes featuring Strategems. Since the game’s launch, developer Arrowhead has released seven Warbonds, including the complimentary Mobilize Warbond that debuted early on.
Available for 1,000 Super Credits each, premium Warbonds typically include new weapons, emotes, boosters, armor, and helmets. However, the upcoming launch of the Chemical Agents Warbond on September 19 will introduce “Stratagem variants”as part of the offering. Players aiming to access the AX/TX-13 “Guard Dog”Dog Breath and TX-41 Sterilizer Stratagems must purchase this Warbond.
This marks the first inclusion of Stratagems in a premium Helldivers 2 Warbond, although Arrowhead had previously suggested that such a feature might be implemented soon.
The all-new AX/TX-13 “Guard Dog” Dog Breath
Following the launch of the sequel, players observed that a Discord FAQ indicated potential future additions of Stratagems to Warbonds and the SuperStore. This addition has now materialized.
Players shouldn’t be overly concerned about the implications of this change for Helldivers 2. The new Stratagems are modified versions of existing options, and dedicated players can earn enough Super Credits through gameplay to acquire Warbonds without spending real money.
Notably, these Stratagems enhance Bug-focused combat encounters. The AX/TX-13 “Guard Dog” Dog Breath effectively transforms a Guard Dog into a weaponized ally that sprays corrosive gas on Terminids. Meanwhile, the TX-41 Sterilizer allows players to take on the role of an exterminator, wielding a ranged weapon that discharges chemical gas.
The new Warbond will release shortly after the September 17 update, which is among the most critical patches for Helldivers 2. This update aims to provide significant buffs to weapons that players had deemed ineffective following the controversial nerfs implemented in August.
