Helldivers 2’s latest patch has caused major changes to the game’s meta

The Airburst Rocket Launcher’s popularity is rapidly increasing in Helldivers 2 due to its effectiveness in eliminating Terminid nests with just one shot.

Recently, the two players of Helldivers were presented with a choice to free either of the two planets, each offering a distinct reward as part of a Major Order.

After the dust had settled, the fans made their decision to liberate the planet Penta. As a result, they were rewarded with the Airburst Rocket Launcher.

Despite being a strong weapon initially, the recent update to Helldivers 2 has elevated it to one of the top-performing weapons in the game. This is due to its new capability of easily closing Terminid nests with a single shot, as each rocket now creates a chain of explosions instead of one large blast. This means that multiple nests can be taken down simultaneously with just one shot.

Nevertheless, the Airburst was at risk of detonating if its rocket came near other Stratagems or even other Helldivers. Thankfully, the recent patch addressed this issue by allowing the rocket to travel longer distances, making it more effective in delivering a powerful blow.

The Airburst’s latest modification allows it to launch a projectile from a considerable distance, effectively eliminating all nearby nests with a series of explosions. This means that players no longer have to dive into the midst of the chaos to deal with the nests.

A user on the game’s subreddit shared their thoughts on the Airburst, stating: “I used to dislike the previous version, but now I officially love it.”

It is certain that weapon popularity in Helldivers 2 will change over time. With the release of new patches, a different weapon will inevitably become more favored.

Currently, the Airburst Rocket Launcher maintains its dominance over the Terminid planets.
