Helldivers 2’s new stealth armor does not actually improve stealth

The Polar Patriots Warbond pack for Helldivers 2 will feature new armor, one of which is being advertised as stealth-focused even though it does not provide any actual stealth bonuses.

Helldivers 2 offers a wide range of armor options, allowing players to tailor their gameplay to their chosen equipment.

Despite claiming to be focused on stealth, those who prefer to avoid direct confrontation have expressed frustration after discovering that a new armor set is not as effective as they had hoped.

The CW-36 Winter Armor, which is the subject of this discussion, is set to be released at Helldivers 2 on May 9 as part of the Polar Patriots Warbond pack. As the name implies, all items in this new pack are designed for use in winter environments. However, a keen Helldivers player has pointed out that the Winter Armor, despite its description as a stealth-oriented item, does not provide any bonuses to support this playstyle during combat.

Sharing on Reddit, a Helldivers 2 player posted the description of the CW-36 Winter Armor, which is as follows.

“Perfectly camouflage yourself in snowy environments and the enemy will never see you until it’s too late. The sweet scent of stealth adds to the satisfaction.”

Contrary to the description’s clear statement of providing a stealth boost, the armor provides a servo-assisted bonus passive instead. This passive effectively increases throwing range by 30% and enhances limb health by 50%.

New armor set is a stealth armor that doesn’t make you stealthy, it makes you throw farther. That’s like an apple that tastes like bacon. byu/PM_PICS_OF_UR_PUPPER inHelldivers

The person who started the thread described the post as, “The new armor set is meant to be a stealth armor but instead of making you stealthy, it allows you to throw things at a greater distance. It’s like eating an apple that tastes like bacon.”

They proceeded to express their frustration over the deceptive name and description, stating that they have long been anticipating this armor since it was first leaked, only to discover that the sole perk it possesses is completely useless in their opinion.

The OP’s sentiments were echoed by other players who were quick to chime in. One Helldivers fan commented, stating, “I’m not surprised. I believe the blue and orange one, which doesn’t blend in with snow, is the one with the scout passive.”

One person commented that they generally support AH’s decisions, but they are not a fan of the armor passives. They expressed a desire for more variety and logical effects instead of reusing old ones.

At present, Helldivers 2 allows players to select armor with three different stats: armor rating, speed, and stamina regeneration. Additionally, the armor passives provide additional buffs. These attributes are determined by the weight of the suit.
