The Helldivers 2 community is encouraging players to revise their negative Steam reviews after successfully challenging the Sony PSN requirements.
After receiving backlash from players, Sony has reversed their decision to make linking a PlayStation Network account mandatory for Helldivers 2. This change was prompted by the mass review bombing on the game’s Steam store page, which resulted in its removal from Steam in 177 countries.
Despite not being the sole target of criticism, Helldivers 2 was not the only game to receive backlash as the original Helldivers was also affected – a development that has left Arrowhead’s CEO Johan Pilestedt feeling “deeply disappointed.”Furthermore, it was uncovered that the developers of Helldivers 2 did not have full control over the PSN requirements.
As of now, the Helldivers 2 Steam page has garnered 248k predominantly negative reviews due to the PSN controversy. However, with the successful restoration of democracy in Super-Earth by the Helldivers 2 community, players are now being encouraged to tidy up the store page.
The moderators of the official Helldivers 2 Reddit page have recently made a post, urging their community to revise their negative reviews. This post, titled Major Order: Operation Clean Up, is currently pinned and gaining attention.
Dear Helldivers, we kindly ask for your support in reconsidering your Steam review as we present this major request. We greatly appreciate your recognition of the hard work put in by Arrowhead to make this game truly exceptional. Your voice holds significant value to both Sony and Arrowhead, and we hope you will take this into consideration.
Let’s work together to bring Helldivers 2 on Steam back to its former glory and return this community to its usual state. If you have posted any negative reviews for games developed by Arrowhead or Sony, we kindly ask that you reconsider and reverse them. Let’s strive to improve as a community and avoid repeating such actions in the future.
Hopefully, with the PSN drama behind us, both Helldivers and Helldivers 2 can once again receive their original glowing reviews.
