Hidari’s Target: Comparing Sasuke in Naruto and Boruto

Hidari’s Target: Comparing Sasuke in Naruto and Boruto

The beginning of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has been quite distinctive. Unlike its prequel manga, which heavily featured Naruto and Sasuke, this new manga has chosen to put them in the background. As a result, the focus has shifted to the new generation of Shinobi, giving them more attention and development.

Despite this, Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of the manga, made sure to provide Sasuke fans with an update on his character development. This is particularly evident through a crucial detail regarding the God Tree Hidari, which reveals to fans the true distinction between Sasuke in the Naruto and Boruto series.

Please be aware that this article includes spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

Despite causing devastation for fans, the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga depicted Sasuke Uchiha being transformed into a God Tree by a swarm of Code’s Claw Grimes. This resulted in the creation of a conscious God Tree formed from Sasuke’s chakra, which was named Hidari.

Despite the God Trees’ initial instinct to absorb chakra from all living beings and produce a chakra fruit, Code’s interventions sparked a sense of self-awareness within them. This newfound self-awareness fueled their curiosity and drive for knowledge, causing them to suppress their innate urge to consume the Otsutsuki.

However, the God Trees were instinctively compelled to target those who held the greatest significance to the individuals they were modeled after. This is apparent in the actions of the God Tree created from Moegi, Matsuri, which sought to consume Konohamaru Sarutobi. Likewise, the God Tree known as Hidari, formed from Sasuke’s chakra, desired to devour Sarada Uchiha.

This development further solidified the fact that Sasuke’s daughter, Sarada, held the utmost importance in his life. Although fans were already aware of Sasuke’s love for his daughter in the prequel manga, Hidari’s targeting of her doppelganger served as confirmation.

Despite this, it should be noted that in the Naruto anime, Sasuke did not possess even a trace of these emotions. At that time, he was consumed by a deep-seated hatred and driven by a singular purpose – to avenge the Uchiha Clan by seeking the death of his brother, Itachi Uchiha.

Despite his success, Sasuke could not release his hatred. This was due to the fact that after discovering the truth about Itachi’s actions, he desired to avenge his brother by killing the leaders of the Hidden Leaf Village for forcing him to commit the massacre of his own clan. As a result, Sasuke remained consumed by hatred until the very end, including during his final battle against Naruto at the Valley of the End.

Despite the differences, Sasuke had a loving wife, Sakura, a daughter named Sarada, and a student named Boruto in Boruto. He tirelessly worked outside the village to ensure its safety and constantly stood up to defend his loved ones. This clearly demonstrates that Sasuke gradually let go of his hatred and transformed into a person who deeply valued those closest to him.
