Regrettably, several pieces of debris do strike the ship, causing the Aniara to lose its ability to control its navigation and propulsion systems. As a result, the vessel becomes incapable of reaching Mars.
Amidst the chaos, the leaders aboard the ship strive to maintain control through deceit and manipulation, while the workers are keenly aware of the dire circumstances facing everyone.
Aniara is a brutally honest portrayal of the potential consequences of a mission like this for the humans on board, highlighting how easily individuals can succumb to the comforting falsehoods that are presented. Despite avoiding spoilers, the film effectively captures the harsh reality of such a journey.
