Hidden Jujutsu Kaisen Detail Highlights the Depth of Yuji and Choso’s Tragedy

In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 259, Yuji and Choso’s final encounter took place. Following this, Sukuna’s flame-cursed technique was used to burn the cursed womb to ashes, allowing him to successfully fend off Itadori Yuji.

Despite the initial meeting between these two characters being far from wholesome, things took a surprising turn when Choso’s mind was clouded by a vision of himself sitting alongside his cursed womb brothers and the protagonist, Itadori Yuji, ultimately leading to a ceasefire in their intense battle to the death.

Upon seeing a specific detail in the visual, Choso realized that he had the opportunity to end his brother’s life by using his cursed technique on Itadori Yuji. However, this same detail may have gone unnoticed by fans, as it appeared during the final visual between these two characters, highlighting the significant transformations they had undergone throughout the manga.

The opening of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 249 takes readers back to the moment when Itadori Yuji was undergoing training with his instructors and upperclassmen. Choso, who possessed the cursed technique of Blood Manipulation, was also present and eager for Yuji to master it.

This foreshadows Choso’s death in the final battle against Sukuna, which ultimately came to pass.

After inflicting serious injury upon Sukuna, Yuji found himself standing within the antagonist’s territory. The protagonist had not anticipated Sukuna’s utilization of his flame-cursed technique and was caught off guard. Suddenly, a figure materialized in front of Yuji, shielding him from Sukuna’s flames. To Yuji’s dismay, it was his own brother, Choso. The two shared a brief farewell before Choso tragically passed away in front of his brother.

During the Shibuya arc, Yuji and Choso’s initial encounter occurred when Yuji was seeking vengeance against him. In the Death Painting arc, Yuji, along with Nobara, killed Choso’s brothers, Eso and Kechiu, leading Choso to seek revenge.

Despite being immobilized by Choso after a intense battle, Yuji’s final blow was interrupted by a sudden and intense headache. As the pain began to subside, he was flooded with a vision of himself, Eso, Kechizu, and Yuji happily eating in a park. This revelation hinted at the possibility of Yuji being Choso’s brother, and thus the cursed womb spared him.

Despite being overlooked by most fans, there was an important detail in the visual. It showed Choso grasping onto the table, indicating the significance he placed on his family ties and his reluctance to let go. In contrast, Itadori appeared relaxed and was casually conversing with Choso’s brothers, not holding onto the table like Choso was.

Similarly, in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 259, in their final moments together, Yuji tightly grasped the table as he and Choso shared a poignant moment. This small gesture could suggest that while Yuji initially disliked Choso’s habit of referring to him as “little brother,”his emotions towards the main character gradually changed over time.

As they were preparing to go their separate ways, Yuji came to the realization that he might lose someone he cherished. In order to hold onto his bond with Choso, who had his hands placed on the table, Yuji expressed his gratitude by calling him ‘big brother,’ just as Gege Akutami had intended when Choso was tragically burned to ashes.
