After the launch of MW3 and Warzone’s Season 3 update, dataminers discovered certain game files that indicated the highly anticipated comeback of a legendary weapon.
The developers of MW3 and Warzone often reintroduce popular features, weapons, and modes to the games. Following the shutdown of Warzone Caldera, players have been eagerly anticipating the return of the beloved Kar98k.
Following the Season 3 update, dataminers discovered mentions of multiple weapons, including the beloved Kar98k Rifle and the SPAS-12 Shotgun, possibly indicating their comeback in the game.
If the leaks are accurate, the developers may permit players to use the classic Kar98k to eliminate enemies from a distance on Rebirth Island.

Despite players’ expectations for the iconic weapon to make a comeback during the release of Rebirth Island, the third major update instead brought the MORS Sniper from Advanced Warfare.
The Kar98k has been featured in multiple Call of Duty games, such as MW 2019 where it was classified as a Marksman Rifle, and SHG’s Vanguard where it served as a formidable Sniper Rifle.
If the leaked game files from Season 3 are accurate, the addition of this classic weapon in both MW3 and Warzone would mark its sixteenth appearance in the Call of Duty franchise.
Please note that this is all simply speculation and is based on leaks. It is important to keep in mind that things can potentially change during the development of the game.
