Hilarious Bug in Overwatch 2 Causes Extreme Voice Line Spam

An issue in Overwatch 2 has elevated the annoyance of voice line spamming, allowing players to deafen anyone in the lobby, regardless of their team.

The long-awaited Overwatch 2 Season 11 has arrived, bringing with it a plethora of fresh content. Among the highlights are a limited-time game mode, significant updates to the Push mode with the introduction of Runasapi and a revamped Colosseo, and the highly anticipated return of Pink Mercy. Although the season is filled with exciting additions, there have been some unexpected challenges along the way.

Despite the major update, a few bugs have managed to go unnoticed, some with malicious intent. The latest patch has already revealed a comical bug, allowing voice lines to be spammed across teams on the server.

Phyerx, a Twitch streamer, noticed that the new Kiriko voice line, which is available in the Season 11 Battle Pass, can be spammed and heard by all players in the server, even before the spawn barriers are down.

It has been discovered that Kiriko is not the only one causing the issue. The bug has affected all new voice lines for every hero in Season 11, giving players the ability to distract their opponents (and even their teammates) at any time and from any location. As a result, there has been a noticeable increase in voice line spam.

Phyerx’s video displayed her opponent’s perspective, in which we can observe their distraction from the constant spamming of mysterious voice lines. This caused them to become too afraid to leave their spawn.

If there is a player in your lobby who is either exploiting this bug or excessively using voice lines, you can mute all text and hero communications by accessing the social channels, right-clicking on the player’s profile, and choosing the appropriate option.

Regarding the release of a fix, it is difficult to say. However, as of now, the voice lines in the Battle Pass have been temporarily disabled to prevent players from dominating lobbies, as of the time of writing.
