Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail Manga to Return With New One Shot

The highly anticipated return of the original Fairy Tail manga is set for next month, with a special one-shot revival chapter. Fans have eagerly awaited this series, which ended in 2017 with its conclusion in Kondasha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The creator of the series, Hiro Mashima, known for his successful works such as Edens Zero and Dead Rock, has also been working on an official sequel to Fairy Tail, titled Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest. As the sequel manga prepares for its anime debut in July, fans can also look forward to the exhilarating return of the original manga with its new revival chapter.

The anticipation is palpable as Kodansha recently revealed that the new one-shot of Fairy Tail by Hiro Mashima will debut in the 31st issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on July 3, 2024. To further promote Mashima’s works, Kodansha shared videos on their Twitter account showcasing advertisements in Japan, featuring images and a video of special displays at Gokukuji Station in Tokyo, in addition to ads for the final chapter of Edens Zero on June 26.

Despite not revealing the premise or page count of the one-shot, the announcement does not take away from Mashima’s busy schedule. He has a lot in store for fans with his ongoing series, Edens Zero, set to conclude on June 26, 2024, and the upcoming sequel anime for Fairy Tail: The 100 Year Quest, premiering on July 7, 2024.

As the Edens Zero manga approaches its conclusion, Kodansha has revealed exciting news for creator Hiro Mashima. The sequel manga to Fairy Tail, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, will also be adapted into an anime, set to premiere in July 2024. The original staff and cast will be returning for this highly anticipated sequel.
