With only three chapters left until its conclusion, Jujutsu Kaisen has sparked speculation about the fate of Yuta Okkotsu. A recent theory on Reddit proposes that his survival may be possible thanks to Masamichi Yaga’s Cursed Technique. Furthermore, the theory speculates that both Satoru Gojo and Hiromi Higuruma may also make a return.

Although the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom has been eagerly anticipating Yuta’s survival and Gojo’s return in the last chapters, a potential comeback from Higuruma would undoubtedly shock many. This theory suggests that Yaga’s Cursed Corpses may serve as a means for their souls to remain in physical form and continue living, but this would also bring its own challenges to the overarching narrative of the story.

Explaining the Role of Yaga’s Cursed Corpses in Hiromi Higuruma’s Return in Jujutsu Kaisen

When Gakuganji fatally attacked Masamichi Yaga in chapter 147 of the manga, at the beginning of the Culling Games arc, Yaga explained that his Cursed Technique involved duplicating the Soul Information from Physical Information and inserting it into the cores of Cursed Corpses. He also mentioned that in order for the technique to work, three compatible souls must be placed in the same cursed corpse and constantly observe each other.

It would require three souls for Gojo, Yuta, and Higuruma to return, making it a possible method for their return.

It can be argued that Gojo and Yuta are the most suitable candidates due to their abundance of innate abilities. Gojo possesses the Six Eyes and Yuta is his distant relative with a significant amount of Cursed Energy. Additionally, Hiromi Higuruma’s exceptional aptitude for sorcery was acknowledged by Ryomen Sukuna during their clash in the Shinjuku arc.

Hence, there is a possibility that Higuruma’s exceptional abilities stem from a familial tie to one of the Big Three Vengeful Spirits. This could also explain his innate talent. In the event that the three souls of these beings are enclosed within the Cursed Corpse, Yuji Itadori is likely to employ his Soul Dismantle technique to divide them, allowing them to exist as separate entities.

Despite the fact that Masamichi Yaga has passed away, there remains a major concern surrounding this Jujutsu Kaisen theory as it suggests that his Cursed Technique cannot be replicated by anyone else. However, some believe that Yuta Okkotsu, who possesses the ability to mimic others’ powers, could potentially be the one to carry out this technique, although it is uncertain if he is currently capable of doing so.

In addition, this series has gained a reputation for not hesitating to kill off beloved characters. Bringing them back in the final chapters would be a waste and could diminish the significance of the ultimate showdown. This could also lessen the impact of Sukuna as an antagonist and the gravity of the conflict.

While it is a fact that Masamichi Yaga’s power has the potential to bring back Gojo, Higuruma, and Yuta in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, there are certain concerns from a writing and world-building standpoint that may hinder this outcome.
