Historic VTuber YouTube Debut Surpasses 350K Viewers

u003cp>The debut stream of a new VTuber captured the attention of thousands, setting multiple records through her undeniable charm.

Yuki Sakuna, a VTuber who communicates in Japanese, made waves in the streaming community when her inaugural broadcast attracted 383,139 viewers. Although her YouTube channel was established in April 2022, she didn’t make her streaming debut until Sunday, October 27, 2024.

This historic stream marked the highest viewership for any independent VTuber debut and became the most-watched inaugural VTuber stream. Overall, it ranks as the third most-viewed VTuber stream in history.

The viewers for VTubers who surpass her include Minato Aqua, who had 749,854 viewers, and Kiryu Coco with 491,342 viewers.

In the days leading up to her debut, Sakuna’s YouTube subscriber count skyrocketed from 61,000 to over 450,000. Currently, her channel boasts an impressive 827,000 subscribers.

Viewers were drawn to Sakuna’s “nostalgic” persona, describing her anime-inspired avatar as “cute” and “entertaining.” Many were particularly taken by her distinctive laugh, with one fan commenting, “I have to recommend this stream because of her voice quality.”

Anticipation for her upcoming streams is high among fans, with some already considering her a “legend.”

Sakuna celebrates her birthday on December 2, classifying her as a Sagittarius. Despite claiming to be 10,000 years old, her personality is characterized by innocence and playfulness.

She enjoys playful antics, though misfortune often leads her to feel bashful. While her on-screen presence is lively and engaging, Sakuna tends to be more reserved when she’s not streaming.

Aesthetically, Sakuna’s character features light pink attire that matches her eye color. She accessorizes with pink and blue bows adorned with cat clips, symbolizing her aspiration to become a cat maid.

Having already made a significant impact, Sakuna will face competition from other well-known Japanese VTubers, such as Houshou Marine and Kiana Al, as she continues to stream.

Sakuna’s record-setting debut follows closely behind VTuber Ironmouse, who made headlines as the most-subscribed Twitch streamer after outpacing Kai Cenat during her subathon.

With the VTuber scene evolving rapidly, fans are left wondering what exciting developments will unfold next as they navigate the content creation landscape.
