This is a new paragraph:
Despite not being included in Hogwarts Legacy, Quidditch, flying remains an enchanting aspect of the game as it enables players to quickly explore any area.
The developer of Hogwarts Legacy, Avalanche Software, not only replicated Hogwarts castle, but also crafted a sprawling open world that evokes the picturesque Scottish countryside surrounding the magical school.
Consequently, the initial stages of playing the game may seem a bit sluggish as witches and wizards are restricted to traveling by foot. However, players need not worry as they will soon have the option to unlock broom travel and acquire their own broomstick to soar through Hogwarts Legacy.
How to unlock the broom
Aspiring Hogwarts Legacy players will have to complete a portion of the main storyline in order to gain the ability to fly on a broom. This will provide them with the perfect chance to familiarize themselves with the layouts of both Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade before being granted access to the entire world at once.
To gain access, players must first complete the ‘Jackdaw’s Rest’ main story quest where they are tasked with exploring a dungeon at the request of a ghost. Finishing this quest will unlock a new quest called ‘Flying Class.’
Where to Purchase a Broom in Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy players can purchase their own broom at Spintwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade.
As its name suggests, the Flying Class quest will involve students learning how to fly on brooms for the first time. Upon completing this task, a store named Spintwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade will unlock for players to visit.
At this location, visitors can interact with Albie Weekes, the shopowner who offers brooms and the option to improve their flying skills.
Each broom will be priced at 600 Galleons, and there will be a selection of cosmetic designs for players to choose from.
How to fly on a broom in Hogwarts Legacy
Mastering flying on a broom may require some practice, but it is relatively simple. When playing on a console, moving the Left Stick will enable players to fly in a straight line. Moving the Right Stick up and down will control their vertical movement, while tilting it left or right will adjust the camera angle.
Your character can lean forward and fly slightly faster by pressing either R2 or RT, while pressing L2 or LT will provide a speed boost that continuously drains the flight meter. The flight meter can be upgraded by completing broom time trials around the open world.
Students will fly around the Hogwarts castle grounds and Quidditch pitch when first learning how to fly.
It should be noted that a broom can fly at a faster speed without draining the flight meter when it is close to the ground, even without any upgrades. However, upgrading one’s broom will not only increase the height of the flight meter, but also enhance the travel speed.
Finally, players have the option to toggle Broom Speed automatically by pressing the Left Stick. To dismount the broom, they can simply fly close to the ground and hold down either ‘Circle’ or ‘B’.
Upgrade the Broom in Hogwarts Legacy: A Step-by-Step Guide
Fully enhancing your broom in Hogwarts Legacy will require a significant amount of time. To upgrade your broomstick, you must successfully finish the Time Trials set by Imelda Reyes, which are scattered across the open world.
Once players have purchased their first broom, they will be able to participate in the first Time Trial. The quest titled ‘Flight Test’ will then be accessible, and Imelda can be found on the Quidditch pitch near a platform.
When taking on broom Time Trials, try to fly through the yellow bubbles before each ring.
In this area, players have the opportunity to navigate a course that is lined with flight rings and yellow speed bubbles in order to surpass Imelda’s record time. Throughout these challenges, it is important to keep the boost button held down and aim to pass through each yellow bubble, as they will consistently replenish the boost meter. As long as players exceed Imelda’s time, they will successfully finish the quest.
Regrettably, not all of these Time Trials are immediately accessible. As you progress through the story, the last two trials will become available, so it may take some time to fully upgrade your broom with Albie Weekes.
All Broom Upgrades in Hogwarts Legacy
As previously stated, there are three different broom upgrades that players can acquire in Hogwarts Legacy. These upgrades are all accessible through Albie Weekes at the Spintwitches Sporting Needs store located in Hogsmeade.
- The initial upgrade is the “Sweeping the Competition”quest, which costs 1000 Galleons.
- The second upgrade is the “The Sky is the Limit”quest, which costs 4000 Galleons.
- The third upgrade, “After the Sky is the Limit”quest, costs 7500 Galleons.
