Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials: Types and Solutions Explained
Although there are nearly a hundred different Merlin Trials featured in Hogwarts Legacy, they can be categorized into 9 major groups based on their methods of completion. And don’t fret, if you happen to fail one, simply wait for some time to pass and attempt it again.
- Smashing orbs: Destroy the orbs on top of the pillars using the Accio spell.
- Exploding stones: Use the Confringo spell to blow up the cracked green rocks around the trial site.
- Use the Reparo spell to repair the statues that have collapsed around the trial site.
- Stone spheres: Utilize the Accio spell to transfer groups of small stone orbs into nearby dishes with gaps for them to fit in.
- Lighting torches: Use the Incendio or Confringo spells to light up the torches surrounding the trial site. They’ll start sinking into the ground as soon as you begin, so find the tallest torch and start from there.
- Collecting moths: Utilize the Lumos spell to draw in the moths that are hovering nearby, and return them to the hollow crystal cubes to illuminate them.
- Symbol cubes: To align each side of the symbol cubes with the plinth where they are placed, cast the Flipendo spell. Pay attention to the arrows that indicate the correct direction for alignment.
- Standing stones challenge: To complete the challenge, start on one end of the standing stones and run/jump across them without touching the ground until you reach the opposite end.
- To successfully score in the nearby bowl-shaped goal set into the ground, utilize spells such as Accio, Levioso, or Depulso to manipulate the ball’s movements. Alternatively, you can also manually carry the ball using Wingardium Leviosa until it reaches the goal.
Merlin Trials Rewards in Hogwarts Legacy
All completed Merlin Trials will be visible in the Field Guide section, allowing you to trade them in for gear slots.
- Exchanging 2 Merlin Trials will grant you 4 additional gear storage slots.
- 4 additional gear storage slots can be obtained by exchanging 6 Merlin Trials.
- 10 additional Merlin Trials are equivalent to 4 extra gear storage slots when exchanged.
- Four gear storage slots can be obtained by exchanging 14 Merlin Trials.
After finishing all of the challenges, not only will you have the game’s largest inventory capacity, but you will also receive the Merlin’s Beard trophy as a reward.
