Honestly can’t wait – Naruto and TMNT Collab Fanart of Sasuke and Raphael

The Naruto series ended in 2017, marking the end of one of the most influential Big Three anime of the last twenty years. Although the storyline and overall impact of the series are often discussed in the anime community, it is undeniable that there has yet to be a media release related to this franchise that is universally enjoyed.

The recently revealed collaboration between Naruto and TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) has not only rejuvenated the Naruto fanbase but has also generated excitement within the TMNT community. This is because the idea of anime characters making appearances in comic books is still relatively unexplored.

Note: This article contains some mild spoilers for the Naruto series.

Naruto x TMNT Collab Reignites Passion for Both Fandoms

The recent collaboration between Naruto and TMNT has left a significant impact on fans. Supporters from both fan bases have shared their enthusiasm for the announcements. However, some have also pointed out that this could be a result of both franchises not having received any new updates in recent times.

Over the years, fans have also shared TNMT-inspired art that depicts the interactions between Naruto and one of the four turtles in TNMT. Jorge Jiminez was the original artist who created the promotional cover art for this collaboration.

The artwork in question has garnered significant attention, featuring Sasuke and Raphael conversing at the site of the Uchiha clan’s massacre. Raphael’s response of “Cowabummer”has been particularly popular among fans. Many have also expressed their belief that this particular art style would be well-suited for a collaborative comic. This fan art was influenced by a crossover comic between TMNT and Batman, in which Batman shows Raphael the alley where he lost his parents.

Fan Reaction to the Fanart

Both sides of the fandom are eagerly anticipating the release of the comic in October, with many expressing their excitement about the upcoming release. While the exact details and storyline of the comic are still unknown, fans have expressed that this collaboration may not be what they expected, but it is exactly what they needed.

Numerous fans have also shared their enthusiasm for the possibility of Masashi Kishimoto’s character appearing in the streets of New York. Some fans even pointed out the comical aspect of the fan art and its fitting reference to the Ninja Turtles’ overall vibe, such as the phrase “Cowabummer,”while discussing the tragic fate of Sasuke’s clan.

“Lmao this is hilarious because the Ninja Turtles would absolutely say some dumb*ss sh*t like this after a serious moment,”one fan mentioned.

“Interactions like these might just be regular in the crossover series,”one fan wrote.

One other fan pointed out that the fan art’s entire depiction would have been bittersweet and comical if Michelangelo had been the subject, instead of Raphael. This was in reference to the “Last Ronin”comic book, which delves into Michelangelo’s plotline.

“This would have been both sad and amusing if that was Mikey instead of Raphael. If you know you know,”another fan said.

“I’m gonna enjoy the crossover,”another fan wrote.

The specific details of the upcoming comic book crossover have not been disclosed yet; the only known information is that it will be released in October. Based on the style of the cover art, it appears that the crossover will revolve around comedy and have a playful tone.
