On the day of the annual Honey Day celebration in Japan, the official website for the highly-anticipated T.V. anime adaptation of Mayu Murata’s beloved romance manga series, Honey Lemon Soda, has released its first trailer. The trailer introduces the main voice cast and reveals a new key visual. Fans can look forward to the premiere of the anime in January 2025, as it is being produced by the renowned studio J.C. Staff.

The trailer also reveals the voice actors for the two main characters in the anime, with Kana Ichinose (known for her role as Suletta Mercury in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury) portraying the female lead Ishimori Uka and Shogo Yano (famous for playing Mafuyu Sato in Given) as her love interest and male lead, Miura Kai.

New Key Visual Revealed
Besides Uka and Kai, the latest key visual also introduces four crucial characters for the first time: Tomoya Takamine, a close friend of Kai, Serina Kanno, Kai’s former girlfriend, Ayumi Endo, Uka’s very first friend, and Satoru Seto, another friend of Kai. The remaining voice cast will be revealed at a later date.
Honey Lemon Soda Cast
The anime is scheduled to debut on Fuji T.V.’s “＋Ultra”programming block in January 2025, as mentioned earlier. J.C.STAFF will be producing the series, with Hiroshi Nishikiori (known for A Certain Magical Index) as director, Akiko Waba (who worked on Blue Reflection Ray) as series composer, Aimi Tanaka as character designer, and Akira Kosemura (known for Ao no Orchestra) as the music composer.
About Honey Lemon Soda
The Honey Lemon Soda anime is an adaptation of Mayu Murata’s manga series of the same name. The manga was first published in Shueisha’s RIBON in 2015 and currently has 25 main tankoubon volumes as of April 2024. In addition, a live-action film based on the series was released in 2021.

Furthermore, a unique stage event featuring the promotion of the popular drink Honey Lemon Soda is scheduled to take place at “Chao Fes x Ribbon Mirai Festa Girls Comic Fest 2024” in Pacifico Yokohama on August 10 and 11, 2024. Both Ichinose, the main character, and the author of the original manga, Mayu Murata, will be present at the event.
