Honkai Star Rail version 2.6 leaks indicate that players will soon be able to purchase previously available time-limited event Light Cones from the Herta shop, a change that some have labeled as the most significant quality of life update in the “history of Hoyo.”
Honkai Star Rail’s turn-based combat system can present a considerable challenge, especially when attempting to conquer tough content such as Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction, or Apocalyptic Shadow. To succeed, players need top-tier units armed with effective Light Cones and builds.
While 5-star Light Cones are not always necessary, players have previously been able to obtain them only through time-limited events, creating a sense of urgency among participants. New players often found it difficult to obtain these exclusive items, leading to feelings of FOMO and affecting character builds.
Reportedly, HoYoverse will introduce time-limited event Light Cones from earlier events into Herta’s shop in the Simulated Universe in version 2.6, generating excitement among the community. One user remarked, “Please stop spamming ‘Genshin could never’. We know.”

Another user expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “I love this. This is amazing for newer players and returning players.” The reduction in FOMO is particularly welcomed, as it means new players won’t miss out on valuable Light Cones due to missed events.
One user elaborated on the issue of FOMO, saying, “People (like me) don’t want to start a gacha because they missed out on an exclusive event item,” highlighting that this change could be “the biggest thing ever in any gacha.”
A significant highlight for version 2.6 will be for new players with Silver Wolf. The event Light Cone “Before The Tutorial Mission Starts”will be available for purchase for the first time since its introduction in the version 1.1 exclusive event over a year ago. This 4-star Light Cone is not only her best option but also rivals her 5-star version.
To buy these Light Cones, players will need Herta’s Bond, which can be earned through weekly rewards by completing Simulated Universe runs. Additionally, players will be able to acquire the necessary materials to upgrade the Superposition level of these Light Cones, as the materials for time-limited event items differ from those obtained through the gacha system.
