Without a doubt, the main attraction is the second-to-last Blood and Cheese scene that has been highly anticipated by the online community ever since the title of the first episode was announced. Cast members have been cautioning viewers that this specific scene in Season 2 Episode 1 of House of the Dragon is even more brutal than the infamous Red Wedding.
The following explanation contains minor spoilers for Season 2 Episode 1 of House of the Dragon.
The moment being discussed is closely related to the previously mentioned Blood and Cheese scene. To avoid spoiling it, one of them commits an act that some fans are debating is more heinous than… the other event.
As the two criminals navigate their way through the Red Keep to carry out their gruesome task, they are accompanied by a small, lovable dog. However, their disagreement leads to Cheese delivering a brutal kick to the defenseless animal, causing an outcry from House of the Dragon viewers.

In one of the numerous posts on X, viewers expressed their outrage towards Cheese’s actions of kicking dogs, causing fans to be furious with the apparent unnecessary cruelty.
One user questioned, “There was no logical reason for them to include that either. What purpose did it serve for the plot?”Other viewers were immediately reminded of Game of Thrones when the dog appeared.
Upon seeing him bring it, one audience member was reminded of Sansa’s dire wolf and expressed concern on Twitter, stating “This show always kills the dog and it’s stressing me out.”
Despite Daemon’s orders causing the incident, it appears that some sympathy for the Blacks has actually been lost. A potential defector even claimed, “It almost made me want to switch to team Green.”
Luckily, the dog survived the incident, however, we will be haunted by his little whimpers for some time.
