House of the Dragon Fans Anticipate the Greatest Fight in TV History in Upcoming Battle Scene

The highly anticipated showdown between two Targaryens on House of the Dragon has been building to a legendary face-off. Many fans speculate that when the two finally clash, it could potentially go down in history as the most epic fight ever seen on television.

Despite Game of Thrones having numerous remarkable action scenes, one stands out as the most iconic: Jon Snow drawing his sword in the Battle of the Bastards. And that’s not even mentioning other memorable battles such as Hardhome, the Battle of the Blackwater, and Oberyn Martell’s fight against the Mountain.

The House of the Dragon has also had its fair share of experiences, such as the Battle at Rook’s Nest and Aemond and Vhagar’s pursuit of Lucerys and Arrax amidst the clouds of Storm’s End.

Despite the anticipation for the Battle of the Gullet, there is another notable fight that will be remembered in history: the Battle Above Gods Eye between Daemon and Aemond. Spoilers will be revealed in the following text.

Several hints have been dropped, such as Alys Rivers forewarning Daemon of his impending death in this location and Aemond displaying a coin in front of his eye. These clues may have gone unnoticed if you haven’t read the book that House of the Dragon is adapted from, but believe us, a major event is on the horizon.

After the fall of Dragonstone, as described in George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood, Daemon issued a challenge to his nephew. He then flew to Harrenhal and patiently waited for Aemond’s arrival, which took 14 days. Once they were face to face, they exchanged some insults before taking flight and engaging in a fierce battle, their dragons breathing fire and scorching the sky.

As Caraxes sank his teeth into Vhagar’s neck, the dragons and their riders tumbled towards the water. With a swift movement, Daemon hopped onto Vhagar and drove his sword into Aemond’s eye. The pair disappeared into the depths of the Gods Eye, but while Aemond’s body remained attached to Vhagar, Daemon’s body was never recovered.

According to one fan on Reddit, there may be a need to expand the fight in the adaptation as it would only last approximately 30 seconds if it stayed true to the source material. The fan described the fight in the books as Caraxes and Vhagar soaring up, with Caraxes swooping down on Vhagar’s neck from above a bank of clouds, resulting in both dragons falling freely. This was expressed in their post on the subreddit for “House of the Dragon.”

“The show was created with the Battle over the Gods Eye in mind, featuring two warriors consumed by hatred as they fought to the death. This was their purpose, ingrained in them from birth. It encapsulated the entire tale of the Dance,”remarked another.

According to a user on X/Twitter, the recent battle could potentially be remembered as one of the greatest conflicts in modern television.

“I am eagerly awaiting the battle between Daemon and Aemond, but I have a feeling it will take place in either Season 3 or Season 4,”another person predicted on Twitter.
