House of the Dragon Fans Express Disappointment with Max’s Episode 1 Sound Quality

After a two-year wait, fans of House of the Dragon Season 2 were caught in a state of panic when they experienced streaming problems while watching the first episode.

Those who eagerly awaited the premiere of Episode 1 of House of the Dragon Season 2 may have faced difficulties last night. Specifically, those who accessed HBO’s streaming platform, Max, were met with an unexpected issue of having no sound when the episode began.

Despite the excitement for numerous upcoming moments such as Blood and Cheese, Aegon II’s rule, and Rhaenyra’s pursuit for revenge, fans were understandably let down when they experienced streaming issues during the first episode.

Many people turned to Reddit to check if they were also experiencing the same issue. It appeared that several users were unable to hear any sound on various parts of the show, except for the actual episode. One Reddit user inquired, “I’m using Prime with the HBO Max add-on. Is anyone else facing this problem?”

One person also experienced the same audio problem on Amazon, but they pointed out that the exclusive Sonic advertisement had flawless audio. They confirmed that the issue was only with the recap and that the audio was fine starting with the theme song.

Another person stated that the recap is just one aspect of the content surrounding the episode. It also includes the preview for the next episode and the comments from the showrunner and actress.

Despite the episode functioning properly, the problem has left many unimpressed. This is particularly disappointing as House of the Dragon Season 2 is one of the highly anticipated new TV shows available for streaming this month.

After the show ended and the previews of upcoming began, my sound went out once again. One person questioned if HBO had failed to properly prepare for this release.

One other comment mentioned, “I was going crazy trying to determine the issue with my TV. Why did they have to do that?”

“Another individual expressed frustration, writing “What the hell. No audio… especially on release night. I’m angry.”

It is uncertain if this problem was only affecting individuals streaming Max via their Prime Video account or if it was a direct issue with the Max platform. The release of House of the Dragon Episode 2 on Sunday, June 23 will undoubtedly prompt viewers to see if the sound problem has been resolved by then.
