House of the Dragon Season 2 Reveals the Greens’ Fatal Flaw

The latest episode of House of the Dragon Season 2 revealed Team Greens’ greatest vulnerability, which could have negative consequences for their efforts in the future.

The ongoing feud between the Greens and Blacks escalated further during the airing of House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 4.

Despite experiencing another significant loss, Team Green will continue to thrive on the unwavering support of the citizens of King’s Landing.

Despite their upcoming victory lap, as shown in the trailer for Episode 5, their biggest weakness has been revealed: a lack of respect for their house’s dragons.

The trailer opens with the Kingsguard displaying the decapitated head of Rhaenys Targaryen’s dragon Meleys, which was killed in Episode 4 by Vhagar and Aemond.

Prior to the Greens’ rule, dragons were highly valued members of House Targaryen, making the current moment all the more remarkable.

Even Maegor The Cruel, known for his cruelty, did not dare to disrespect a dragon, making the Greens’ choice to behead Meleys all the more brutal.

Ever since the fall of Old Valyria, the Targaryens were the sole remaining dragonriders in the world. The bond between the family and their dragons was so strong that it was rumored they possessed pure dragon blood in their veins from birth.

Despite not every member of the family being a dragonrider, House Targaryen has always held their powerful fire-breathing companions in great esteem.

Conversely, the Greens appear to have no regard for the dragons’ dignity. Despite the evident strong connections between Aemond and Vhagar, as well as Aegon and Sunfyre, this mutual respect does not extend to any other dragons.

Showcasing Meleys in such a vulnerable manner may potentially have adverse consequences for the Greens, as one fan pointed out, stating that this decision reveals the team’s foolishness. By showcasing a dragon, which is the greatest asset of House Targaryen, in a vulnerable state, they are essentially admitting that their dragons are not indestructible and neither are they.

The death of Meleys by Team Green has exposed them to a possible backlash. The common people might interpret this event as a signal that their dragons are not as formidable as they believed, and may revolt against any oppressive actions from the ruling power without hesitation.
