However, due to the natural chemistry between the actors and the emotional intensity of the scene, D’Arcy’s instinct to comfort Mysaria led to the organic progression into a kiss.
D’Arcy reiterated her co-star’s view on the kiss, expressing to Variety that the relationship between Rhaenyra and Mysaria is characterized by honesty. Initially, Rhaenyra feels a strong sense of empathy and gratitude towards Mysaria for her courageous life. However, as they embrace and their bodies touch, their desire for each other becomes purely physical.
