House of the Dragon Viewers Speculate George R.R. Martin Will Critically Review Season 2

Many viewers of House of the Dragon are anticipating that author George R.R. Martin will soon post a blog entry with harsh critiques of Season 2.

Despite having ended almost a month ago, House of the Dragon Season 2 remains a topic of conversation in the public eye, whether positively or negatively.

Despite its success, the season did not end on a high note, with the final episode receiving the second-lowest rating for any finale in the Game of Thrones franchise. This disappointment has been attributed by some fans to major plot points being spoiled and new characters being introduced too late in the game.

Not only have fans been vocal in their commentary, but Fire & Blood author George R.R. Martin has also confirmed that he will be writing a blog post to share his thoughts on Season 2. This has caused speculation among viewers that he will be critiquing it without holding back.

“I’m more excited for this than I am for Winds of Winter,”one fan shared on X/Twitter, while another chimed in, “It’s like authors dropping diss tracks.”

Another viewer also left a comment, stating, “Expressing negativity on a blog is much more sophisticated than doing so through a Twitter rant, especially when announcing it beforehand.”

After the first three episodes of House of the Dragon aired, Martin discussed the show’s second season.

The show received a lot of praise from the author, with a particular focus on Emma D’Arcy and Phia Saban’s performances and the inclusion of everyone’s favorite four-legged friend.

Nevertheless, he did not hesitate to express his disapproval of the altered storyline of Blood & Cheese from the books.

Martin alluded to a more extensive blog post to come once the season concluded. He stated, “I will write a separate post discussing the multitude of topics brought up by Blood and Cheese… and Maelor the Missing. There is much to be said.”

The writer also expressed disapproval towards the series for using an incorrect sigil for House Targaryen, as the one portrayed in the show depicts a dragon with four legs instead of two.

Although this banner originated with Game of Thrones, Martin expressed his disappointment that the spinoff series would not address this mistake.
