House of the Dragon’s Most Fearsome Dragon Will Never be Tamed

The ongoing Targaryen civil war remains at the forefront of House of the Dragon Season 2, with both sides utilizing their powerful armies and formidable dragons to impede each other’s progress.

Despite the Targaryens’ assertion of ownership over dragons, there is a small faction without riders, but Rhaenyra is determined to change this by Episode 6.

Along with Vermithor, Silverwing, Seasmoke, Grey Ghost, and Sheepstealer, the Cannibal is one of six dragons that have not yet been claimed.

Despite the fact that many members of this group will be able to find riders in dragonseeds like Hugh Hammer and Ulf the White, The Cannibal will not be as fortunate.

One reason for this is that Sheepstealer and Grey Ghost, along with him, are classified as wild dragons due to the fact that they have never been ridden by a human before.

During the rule of Jaehaerys I Targaryen, all three of the trio were born, with The Cannibal being the eldest. Although they are all wild creatures, The Cannibal is considered the most perilous due to its unique appetite.

Due to his fondness for consuming deceased dragons, newly hatched dragons, and dragon eggs, he was given his name by the common people of Dragonstone.

Despite possessing this trait, numerous bastards with Targaryen lineage attempted to seize control of The Cannibal when Jacaerys Velaryon summoned the wild dragons to be tamed during the Dance of the Dragons.

Despite numerous attempts, no one was able to successfully ride The Cannibal, and as a result, he spent the rest of his days on Dragonstone as one of the only four fiery beasts to survive the conflict.
