The recently launched action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, has some truly amazing adversary and boss confrontations that are both difficult and enjoyable. Players are given free rein to explore an open world where they will encounter a variety of enemies, much to the previous game in this series, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order.
Rancor is one of the first optional bosses that players will be able to fight. This enormous bipedal monster’s battle is a part of an optional questline that you can begin by gathering rumors from NPCs. Here is a detailed guide that includes Rancor’s location, quest rewards, and other information, as well as instructions on how to defeat him quickly in Star Wars Jedi Survivor.
How to beat Rancor in Star Wars Jedi Survivor without difficulty
You will ultimately encounter a woman as you make your way to Koboh’s outposts who will seek Cal for assistance and offer him the Locate Missing Prospectors rumor. The NPC is located close to the Rambler’s Reach Outpost meditation area, right outside the town’s gate. To check out the rumor, you must travel to Sodden Grotto.
Thankfully, Hunter’s Quarry’s entrance is right across from the aforementioned meditation place. When you arrive at Sodden Grotto, you can fully explore the area to look for hidden treasures and other artifacts that are there.
Following your inspection of the Sodden Grotto, you can take on Rancor in his arena, which is located next to the Sodden Grotto’s meditation spot. This creature is undoubtedly one of the early Star Wars Jedi Survivor optional bosses that requires the best possible use of your dodges and parries in order to overcome.
Understanding and anticipating Rancor’s attack patterns and utilizing them in your own attacks can help you defeat it. In Star Wars Jedi Survivor, the boss can be defeated by using the following advice:
- Rancor, like every other adversary in the game, has a series of attacks that are rather obvious when they are coming.
- The Rushing Grab, one of its most deadly attacks, sees the creature glow red before lunging for Cal and grabbing him, dealing a lot of damage. If he has low health, this move may possibly be fatal.
- You must dodge (side-step) away at the appropriate moment, just before the monster’s assault lands, in order to avoid being hit by this attack.
- Another move to watch out for is the Ground Pound, which may do a lot of damage if it connects. By either staying away from the monster or doing a double jump before the attacks land, you can easily evade this assault.
- Throwing the numerous bones that are scattered across the arena at the boss will quickly inflict damage to it. Rancor will be temporarily stunned as a result, enabling you to sneak in a few more punches.
- The majority of the damage you inflict on the Rancor will come from counterattacks, which you must time perfectly following flawless dodges.
After you defeat Rancor, you will receive a “essence” as payment. Additionally, you get the Shatter perk, which gives Cal the ability to quickly deplete an enemy’s block meter and is a very useful upgrade for the early game. Any meditation point where this item is available for equipping.
