After Ochako opened up about her past and confessed her love for Izuku Midoriya, Himiko was initially ready to stab her again but ultimately refrained. She also revealed her own past, explaining that she was unable to ask her childhood crush, Saito, for his blood because of societal expectations. Ochako realized that Himiko had a troubled past, but she had not noticed sooner.

After questioning Ochako about her appearance, Himiko inquired if she thought Himiko Toga was the most adorable person ever. Ochako replied by stating that Himiko was the cutest in the entire world. As Himiko examined Ochako’s severe injuries, she became aware that Ochako’s life was in danger. Despite this realization, Himiko could not imagine a world without Ochako and made the decision to rescue her.
