Hades 2 has recently been released in Early Access, but have you ever wondered how long it takes to complete? Here’s a breakdown of all the available content in this first version and the estimated hours you’ll need to put in for progression.
Three years after the original Hades was released, its sequel, Hades 2, has become the main focus. Supergiant Games has released their first-ever follow-up game, now available for Early Access, and as expected from the studio, there is plenty of content to explore.
Containing a variety of fresh resources, systems, weapons, bosses, and everything in between, there is an abundance of content to keep you thoroughly engaged. However, how much time does it take to complete it all?
Take a glance at the estimated duration of your gaming experience with Hades 2 during its Early Access phase.
Estimated Time to Beat Hades 2 in Early Access: Storyline Run
A playthrough of Hades 2 that prioritizes experiencing the story typically takes around 15-20 hours to complete.
A major contributing factor to this is the familiar methodical pacing from the first game.
The narrative of Hades 2 progresses with every successful or unsuccessful attempt in the Underworld, and beyond. Additional characters are introduced, new storylines emerge, and as you assume the role of Melinoë, the surrounding world transforms.
Although the Early Access version does not have a definitive ending, players can experience all of the one-of-a-kind narrative content by defeating the main bosses and reaching a sort of conclusion, which typically takes around 15-20 hours.
20 hours in and we’re barely scratching the surface on the full range of content in Hades 2.
How long does it take to complete Hades 2 in Early Access? (Completionist run)
Despite the fact that there are still more areas to be introduced and new characters and systems to mix things up, the initial Early Access build already offers plenty to explore. With optional challenge runs and the ability to upgrade your Arcana Cards, there is a vast amount of content to keep you entertained for hours.
The amount of time it will take to complete the game varies based on your level of skill and, as expected in a roguelike game, a bit of luck. It could take several hours to find all the Legendary and Duo boons, depending on your luck and how quickly you navigate through the various upgrade systems.
In addition to the other unique content that we have yet to mention, completing a full run of Hades 2 would likely take a minimum of 50 hours for a completionist.
As the game is currently in Early Access and will remain so until at least the end of 2024, it is likely that this number will continue to increase significantly. With ongoing additions to the game, completionists will have plenty of new content to explore.
How much content is in Hades 2’s Early Access Build?
In essence, the Early Access build of Hades 2 offers a vast amount of content, equivalent to that of the complete version of the first Hades game. This includes storylines, weapons, systems, and other features.
As mentioned in our extensive preview, the Early Access label may not be the most accurate term for Hades 2. Supergiant has essentially released a complete sequel, with only a few final touches remaining to be added throughout the remainder of 2024.
Despite not having a definitive ending, there are still some finishing touches needed for the artwork and a few systems that need to be added. However, the game is already filled with an abundance of features.
The advantage is that regardless of the amount of progress you achieve during Early Access, your save will transfer to the complete version of Hades 2.
