How Marvel Rivals Fans Use OP Jeff The Land Shark to Stunlock Enemies

“Players participating in the Marvel Rivals Closed Beta have uncovered a dominant tactic to repeatedly disable opponents in every match. This strategy involves utilizing the newest addition to the character roster, Jeff The Land Shark.”

NetEase’s recent patch on July 27th introduced two new characters, Jeff The Land Shark and Thor, to the Marvel Rivals Closed Beta during its final week. This has expanded the hero roster from 21 to 23.

Despite being a strategist, Jeff The Land Shark has proven to be a major game changer, while Thor, a powerful Vanguard, remains a dominant force with his hammer, delivering impactful blows. Although Jeff’s healing capabilities are noteworthy, it is his remarkable attacking skills that truly shine.

Players are reporting that Jeff’s ability to stun enemies is proving to be exceptionally dominant and overpowered in the current meta.

A video was posted on Reddit by a TikTok user known as Bogur, showcasing his gameplay on the Rivals beta. In the video, Bogur played as Jeff The Land Shark and used his ultimate ability, It’s Jeff!, to devour an enemy. He then cleverly spat the enemy back into their team’s spawn area, effectively trapping them and preventing them from attacking or escaping.

So Jeff can spit out enemies in the spawn room, blocking them in there.. byu/thoxo inmarvelrivals

The opponent was rendered immobile until their next respawn, therefore they have no choice but to stay and risk being eliminated by Bogur’s teammates.

This method has enabled players to devise their own variations in which they utilize Jeff’s ultimate ability to expel enemies from the battlefield altogether, or even plunge down with them for a multi-kill.

Despite this, Bogur’s version still allows you to troll the enemy by taking advantage of their stunned state while they are still alive. Numerous players have shared their encounters with Jeff, with one player even recounting, “I had a match where one person threw allies off the map.”

One person suggested that NetEase address the bug by implementing a spawn barrier that is only solid on one side, preventing players from entering the opposing team’s spawn room but allowing them to exit. Another fan expressed their belief that this ultimate ability will be altered before the game’s official release, noting that most other games do not allow players to actively control their teammates or opponents.

Despite Jeff’s abilities being highly regarded as a complete meta in the game, you can still refer to our tier list to see his complete set of abilities and where he stands in terms of ranking.
