The protagonist of the Boruto franchise is Boruto Uzumaki, who is the son of the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki, as fans are well aware. In the initial series, the young protagonist was known for his spoiled attitude, but his perspective changed when Momoshiki attacked and he realized the significance of having a father figure in his life.

However, the protagonist’s struggles did not end there. Following the battle, Momoshiki took up residence within him, biding his time for his eventual resurrection. Things took a turn for the worse until Eida utilized her Omnipotence ability on Kawaki, effectively replacing his existence with that of the protagonist. As a result, Kawaki now bore the mantle of Naruto Uzumaki’s son.

Despite everyone in the village forcing the protagonist to leave, Sasuke chooses to accompany him because Sarada, his daughter, senses something amiss with the situation. Sasuke then takes it upon himself to train the protagonist, with the goal of helping him become stronger and eventually return to the village.

After being exiled from the village, the protagonist’s absence spanned 4 years, which was the time gap in the series. Upon his return, he was immediately forced to confront Code in battle. Luckily, the protagonist had grown and was no longer the same person he was before, easily defeating the villain in their first encounter. It was evident that the protagonist had matured in the 4 years he had been gone, as he returned as a 16-year-old teenager, having been only 12 when he left.

It was expected that the main character would grow stronger after the time skip, given that his mentor was the renowned Uchiha prodigy, Uchiha Sasuke. Over the course of 4 years, Sasuke taught him every possible technique.

As the protagonist’s training neared completion, he requested additional guidance from his teacher, unaware that he had already imparted all of his knowledge. Tragically, when confronted by the formidable Claw Grimes of Code, Sasuke sacrifices himself for the protagonist, entrusting the protection of Sarada to him.

Regarding the extent of the protagonist’s growth in strength, we can examine his significant battles following his return from the timeskip. His initial return involved a confrontation with Code, who had snuck into the Hidden Leaf Village in search of the protagonist. Unable to locate him, Code engaged in a fight with Sarada, anticipating that the protagonist would eventually show up.

During the ongoing battle, the protagonist impressively showcased their mastery of swordplay and hand-to-hand combat, causing Code to be taken aback. In a final attempt to resolve the conflict, Code was met with the protagonist’s ultimate move, the Rasengan Uzuhiko. This technique proved to be too much for Code to handle, leaving him unable to stand and demonstrating the protagonist’s significant growth over the past 4 years.

In the ninth chapter, the main character revisits the Hidden Leaf Village to assist in the battle against the Ten-Tails God Trees. In order to reach the village, he employs the Flying Raijin technique, which he had recently learned from Sasuke.

Despite being attacked by Kawaki, the protagonist was unable to retaliate. However, they managed to evade Kawaki’s attacks and ultimately defeat him by impaling him. This victory not only demonstrated the protagonist’s growth and maturity, but also solidified their return to the village as a stronger individual.
