The Demon Slayer Corps is an organization established to defeat Kibutsuji Muzan, the Demon King. It brought together some of the most skilled swordsmen and combatants, united under the leadership of the Ubuyashiki clan. This clan was endowed with foresight, which was crucial for effectively allocating resources.
However, the Corps faced a significant challenge due to its limited size. The number of demons in the world far exceeded the number of demon hunters available to combat them.
As a result, many demon hunters met their demise because they were unable to request backup when needed. Nevertheless, one individual could have addressed this issue – Shinobu Kocho. The Insect Hashira‘s Breathing Technique could have played a pivotal role in solving this problem.

How Could Shinobu Kocho Aid the Demon Slayer Corps?
Shinobu Kocho’s contributions to the Corps could have stemmed from her unique Breathing Technique. Readers of the manga are aware that the demon hunters ultimately triumphed and succeeded in defeating Kibutsuji Muzan.
However, this victory came at a steep cost. While numerous Hashira and high-ranking demon hunters perished, many lower-ranked members experienced preventable deaths.
This was particularly evident during the Mount Natagumo arc when numerous demon hunters fell victim to the Spider demon family. Shinobu Kocho could have significantly aided the Demon Slayer Corps by teaching them the Insect Breathing Technique. But how would this have been beneficial? It is key to note that Shinobu Kocho, despite her status as a Hashira, lacked the strength to decapitate a demon.
She relied on her medical knowledge to create poison, making this Breathing Technique especially advantageous for those who may lack physical strength.
This method of combat would have allowed a greater number of demon hunters to join the Corps, significantly increasing their ranks. The Ubuyashiki clan could have supported her research with necessary resources, enabling her to teach and promote the Insect Breathing Technique on a larger scale.
The potential decrease in deaths at the lower ranks could have been substantial, as her poison is particularly effective against weaker demons.
Indeed, her poison was capable of weakening the Upper Moon 2 demon, Doma, giving Inosuke and Kanao the opportunity to deliver the finishing blow. Consequently, her poison would be even more effective against lesser demons, enhancing the survival chances of weaker demon hunters against threats outside of the 12 Kizuki.
Furthermore, an increase in numbers would also ensure that the demon hunters had adequate backup when needed. This exemplifies how Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira, could have resolved one of the most pressing issues the organization faced regularly.
