In Manor Lords, fuel and food are essential resources that players must manage to satisfy the needs of families and workplaces. While gathering fuel can initially seem daunting due to increasing demands, it becomes manageable once you establish key structures and carefully store resources for winter and growing families. Below, we outline how to efficiently procure fuel in Manor Lords and ensure a steady supply to avoid shortages.
How to Obtain Fuel in Manor Lords
Fuel is crucial in Manor Lords for maintaining warmth throughout the year and operating various village and city workplaces. The fuel comes in two primary forms:
Fuel Type | Associated Building |
---|---|
Firewood | Woodcutter’s Lodge |
Coal | Charcoal Kiln |
During winter, fuel consumption doubles, making it essential to stockpile resources for survival and community approval.
Collecting Firewood in Manor Lords
To gather Firewood, players must construct a Woodcutter’s Lodge and assign up to three families to work there. The Woodcutter’s Lodge requires 1 Timber to build, and the assigned workers will chop nearby trees and convert logs into firewood.
Although the Woodcutter’s Lodge has a generic storage capacity of 50, it’s advisable to transfer the stock to a Storehouse, or better yet, a Large Storehouse that can hold up to 2500 resources.
For quicker collection and storage, position the Storehouse near the Woodcutter’s Lodge whenever possible.
Collecting Coal in Manor Lords
Coal serves as a second efficient fuel source. Unlike firewood, you cannot collect coal directly; you must unlock the “Charcoal Burning” development, which allows for the construction of Charcoal Kilns.
Once obtained, players can construct a Charcoal Kiln for 2 Timbers, allowing workers to convert 1 Firewood into 2 Charcoal. It’s highly recommended to build Kilns near the Woodcutter’s Lodge for efficient firewood transport.
After refining Firewood into Coal, workers can transport the coal to the Storehouse or Large Storehouse.
Managing and Optimizing Fuel Supply
To uphold a consistent fuel supply, it’s recommended to build the Woodcutter’s Lodge, Charcoal Kiln, and Storehouse in close proximity. This arrangement minimizes travel time between structures and ensures a robust stock level that can be distributed efficiently.
Even assigning just one family per building is sufficient during the early stages. However, as trees are a finite resource, consider constructing a Forester’s Hut to have workers plant more trees, ensuring a continual supply of wood and reforesting the area.
Keep in mind that it takes a significant amount of time for trees to mature, so initiating this process early on will be beneficial.
How to Track Fuel Needs and Supplies in Manor Lords
To monitor your current fuel reserves, simply click on the bonfire icon. This will display the total amounts of Firewood and Coal stored across your buildings.
To determine how long your existing fuel and food supplies will last, click on the Barrel icon located on the left.
It’s also essential to remember that both firewood and coal count as a single resource. For example, if you have 50 firewood and 50 coal, your total fuel supply is 100. Each Burgage Plot uses 1 Fuel per month and 2 Fuel per month during winter.
That concludes our guide on fuel management in Manor Lords. While it may seem daunting at first, effectively managing and maintaining a steady supply of both firewood and coal is quite achievable, especially if your buildings are strategically placed close to one another. With a solid stock, the risk of fuel overconsumption is minimized.
