In Hades 2, the beloved pastime of fishing has made a comeback, adding an extra layer of gameplay that was not present in its predecessor. While the minigame serves a purpose in the sequel, here is a guide on how to go fishing in Hades 2.
Unlocking Fishing in Hades 2
To gain access to fishing in Hades 2, players must obtain the Rod of Fishing from the Silver Pool. This area is located between the Altar and the Training Area at the Crossroads, which is the place where players return after each run.
The Rod of Fishing is initially locked and can only be obtained after purchasing the Night’s Craftwork Incantation from the Cauldron. It is sold at the Cauldron in exchange for one Moly, a type of flower that can be found in any room in the Erebus region.
After unlocking the Gathering Tools category in the Silver Pool, players can acquire the Rod of Fishing by exchanging two Fate Fabric and one Bronze. Fate Fabric can be obtained from the Wretched Broker at the Crossroads in exchange for Bones, while Bronze can be mined from the Surface area.
Once equipped, players can fish by approaching a body of water with a small ripple, clicking on the Fish option, and then timing their button press when their line suddenly dips into the water. This will result in catching a fish and adding it to their inventory.
Hades 2: How to Utilize Fish
The sole purpose of fish in Hades 2 is to trade them with the Broker at the Crossroads for Bones. The amount of Bones received for different types and rarities of fish may vary. As the game is currently in early access, it is possible that there may be additional uses for fish in the future.
