Fortnite is commemorating its seventh anniversary in Chapter 5 Season 4 with exclusive quests and customized birthday-themed cosmetics. One of the six celebratory quests entails eating seven slices of birthday cake, and here’s your guide to completing this task.
How to Locate and Consume Birthday Cake in Fortnite (Map Locations)
During Fortnite’s birthday celebration week, several new items have made their debut, including Birthday Medallions, Flare Guns, Birthday Presents, and of course, Birthday Cake. The cake can be found at various major Points of Interest (POIs) around the map, a few of which I’ve highlighted on the map above. For an easy find, I recommend heading to the Reckless Railways POI where the cake is prominently displayed.
At Reckless Railways, you will discover a large Birthday Cake adjacent to the fountain near the bridge (refer to the image above). Land there and chow down on the slices of cake one at a time that are located around the main cake. You can consume all seven slices necessary to fulfill the quest in a single match; however, keep an eye out for other players who might be after the same goal. Besides Reckless Railways, I’ve also found birthday cakes in locations like The Underworld castle and inside the shop at The Raft.
Fortnite 7th Birthday Quest Rewards
Completing each birthday quest yields a reward of 20,000 XP, along with several cosmetic items that you can unlock:
- Complete 1 Birthday Quest: Birthday Bud emote
- Complete 3 Birthday Quests: Cake Clobberer pickaxe
- Complete 5 Birthday Quests: Sprinkly Space Cake back bling
Fortnite 7th Birthday Quests Overview
- Wish the bus driver a Happy Holiday (7)
- Just thank the bus driver by pressing the emote button (B on keyboard). You’ll need to play seven matches to thank the driver seven times for this quest.
- Throw Birthday Presents or open chests (7)
- Opening seven chests is relatively straightforward since they are scattered throughout the map, and an indicator appears when you are near one. Birthday Presents are rarer; I found mine in a chest once.
- Travel distance while airborne with balloons from Birthday Medallions (777)
- This quest requires obtaining a Birthday Medallion, which typically spawns when you deploy Birthday Presents. Collect the Medallion to receive balloons that will enable you to float. Once airborne, navigate around to achieve the 777-meter distance.
- Release or pop balloons (7)
- You can either shoot down balloons on enemies’ backs if you encounter one or acquire a Birthday Medallion and release the balloons you gain.
- Reveal players by setting off fireworks with the Flare Gun (7)
- Flare Guns are a rare loot type (purple tier) but may be acquired from chests or Birthday Presents. Fire the gun into the sky to mark enemies; I recommend firing it when bots are engaged nearby to reveal multiple opponents simultaneously.
