LEGO Fortnite has recently added a new toy, the Activated Balloons, that allows players to inflate and deflate balloons using channel controls.
Epic rolled out the 30.40 update for Fortnite on August 6, which brought a plethora of new content to both the main Battle Royale mode and LEGO Fortnite. This update serves as the last patch for Chapter 5 Season 3.
The introduction of Activated Balloons has been one of the most significant changes to the block-building mode. These Balloons can be crafted in both small and large sizes, and their switch-controlled feature allows for increased creativity and control in the construction of your genius inventions.
Unlocking and Crafting Activated Balloons
There are two types of Activated Balloons: Activated Balloon Small and Activated Balloon Large. Although they have the same function, their sizes and Crafting recipes differ slightly.
Silk Fabric, Torches, and Cords are used to craft both types of Activated Balloons.
To gain access to the recipe for both Activated Balloons in LEGO Fortnite, it is necessary to create a Loom. This step is only required in a Survival world; in a Sandbox world, unlocking recipes is not necessary.
To create an Activated Balloon Small at a Crafting Bench, you will require:
- One Silk Fabric
- One Torch
- One Cord
To create an Activated Balloon Large at a Crafting Bench, you will require:
- Two Silk Fabric
- One Torch
- One Cord
The Loom that you constructed in order to unlock them will come in handy for creating either of the Activated Balloons, as it is necessary for producing Silk Fabric. Each Loom can produce one piece of Silk Fabric by trading in five Silk Threads.
Using five Vines at a Spinning Wheel, cords can be crafted, while a Torch can be made with three pieces of Wood and five Vines at a Crafting Bench.
How to use Activated Balloons
To incorporate Activated Balloons into LEGO Fortnite, it is necessary to utilize channel controls in order to pair them with a switch for toggling on and off. This can be accomplished using either the traditional Activation Switches or the recently introduced Pressure Plates and Trigger Plates.
You can stand on a Pressure Plate to inflate and deflate Activated Balloons.
To control the inflation of Activated Balloons, all you need to do is place them on a Dynamic Foundation with your preferred switch. Regardless of their size, the Balloons will inflate immediately upon switching on and deflate once turned off.
It is possible to repeat this process as many times as desired, which is highly advantageous for constructing air transportation devices or for a variety of creative purposes in your constructions. To illustrate, you can also install a Driver’s Seat and utilize a Wrench to precisely adjust the controls for each Activated Balloon.
The latest 30.40 update for LEGO Fortnite from Epic includes new features such as the Fast Travel network, accessible through Battle Bus Stations, the Kart Racer vehicle, the Pirate Lifestyle Bundle, and other exciting additions.
