In order to assist you in defeating the Echo Knight in No Rest for the Wicked, here are some recommended builds and fighting tactics that may make your battle more manageable.
Strategies for defeating the Echo Knight in No Rest for the Wicked
To defeat the challenging Echo Knight in No Rest for the Wicked, it will be crucial to carefully select the appropriate build for your character.
Lighter build to beat the Echo Knight
Therefore, we have compiled a list of the top recommended items for your Echo Knight battle, taking into consideration suggestions from the community as well as our own personal experience with the build.
- Armor: Heavy armor
- Weapon: Dual daggers
- Runes: Dashing Stab
- Rings: Crow Ring & Jade Ring
Wearing the Heavy armor will give you sufficient defense to withstand the Echo Knight’s occasional attacks, but it’s important to focus on dodging as well. Luckily, the Echo Knight is not particularly fast, so you don’t have to be overly concerned about your Stamina.
Using Dual Daggers allows you to quickly strike in between the attacks of an Echo Knight. While they may not deal a significant amount of damage, their speed can be advantageous in this situation.
By adding Dashing Stab to your Dual Daggers, you can compensate for the low damage output. This skill allows for multiple rapid strikes, enabling you to make the most of your attacks within the limited time frame.
Your Crow Ring will provide you with additional focus and health, both of which are crucial in a battle like this. When combined with the Jade Ring, you will also gain extra stamina and overall health.
Heavier build to beat the Echo Knight
Another potential design would involve utilizing a heavier weapon, which has already shown promise in both our own experimentation and within the community.
- Armor: Verdant Warrior
- Weapon: Hammer / Axe
- Runes: Blink
- Rings: Ring of Broken Promises / Crow Ring
Your Verdant Warrior armor not only offers sufficient protection, but also boosts your focus, Health, and Stamina regeneration, making it the perfect choice for a boss battle such as this one.
In a battle with the Echo Knight, it is advantageous to use quick and lightweight weapons. However, it is worth considering using slower weapons such as hammers or axes. Despite their slower speed, they can inflict greater damage. If you are able to time your attacks properly, these weapons can effectively take down the Echo Knight.
Having Blink on your character is incredibly beneficial. It allows you to quickly escape from an attack by teleporting, making it perfect for a slower build such as this.
Lastly, while the Ring of Broken Promises may have its flaws, it is still a worthwhile option. Its increased damage output may come with a slight increase in damage taken, but by pairing it with the Crow Ring and strategically timing your attacks, you should have no problem maintaining a good balance.
Strategies for Defeating the Echo Knight in No Rest for the Wicked
As soon as you enter the battle, make sure to roll twice to the side to evade the Echo Knight’s charging attack.
Shortly after healing, the opponent will launch three powerful, purple orbs in your direction, so be sure to evade these as well. Right after the third orb, quickly move in and attack it a couple times, then be prepared to dodge its subsequent stomp as you will have another opportunity to strike immediately after.
Afterwards, it will make two attempts to stab you; make sure to avoid them and retaliate. Its attacks will then follow a similar pattern, including: Charging, shooting purple balls, stomping, and stabbing.
During the presence of the purple balls, stay near and be prepared to dodge behind the enemy when it charges or thrusts its lance. This will give you an opportunity for a few extra attacks. Be aware that the enemy may also attempt a roundhouse swipe, which is signaled by the raising of its lance. In this case, be sure to dodge to avoid getting hit.
Once you have depleted the majority of its health, you will enter the next stage, during which the Echo Knight will call forth flames. In order to avoid being hindered by the flames in your primary attacks, it is advised to move along the perimeter of the battlefield, but be careful not to fall off.
Once the fire has subsided, he will repeat most of his attacks. As a precaution, try to avoid them and only strike when there is an opportunity. Make sure to use your focus whenever it is available.
After the horse’s death, the Echo Knight will perform an intense area attack before dismounting. It is important to stay at a safe distance during this attack. Once the attack is over, the Echo Knight’s attacks become slower during phase two. Utilize every opportunity to heal or attack during this phase.
We advise keeping a safe distance from him during this stage, as he will charge frequently, giving you opportunities to execute strategic attacks before retreating again.
One important tip is to avoid the Echo Knight as much as possible, as he possesses formidable attacks that can easily take you by surprise. However, by mastering the aforementioned technique and improving your evasive maneuvers, you should be able to defeat him with minimal difficulty.
