According to reports, Elden Ring features some of the toughest boss battles in gaming history. Among these formidable foes is the endgame boss Starscourge Radahn, who is encountered in the latest expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, released on June 21st. While facing Radahn is not required, it is necessary in order to access the expansion content.
The Mystery of Radahn’s Whereabouts
Radahn, the Starscourge, can be located at Caelid’s Castle Redmane.
To begin, make your way to Caelid and go to the Impassable Greatbridge, also known as the Site of Grace. Look for a nearby portal that will grant you access to Castle Redmane. Once you enter, head to the courtyard where you will find Blaidd by the fire and can speak with him.
Search for a man positioned at the highest point of a set of stairs connected to a stone archway. Following a brief discussion, you will exit the castle and come across a portal situated by a river.
You will be taken to Radahn in Wailing Dunes.
Important Information Before the Battle
To successfully defeat this boss, it is crucial to have achieved a minimum level of 65. Radahn, a demi-god and Shardbearer, is capable of swiftly defeating you.
Strategies to Defeat Radahn
General Radahn should be feared as he is a remarkable fighter. He wields large arrows that can deal fatal blows from a distance and swings two giant swords in close range, making it challenging to dodge. His fearsome steed, Leonard, keeps him constantly on the move. In the last moments of battle, General Radahn is not afraid to use deadly spells. In conclusion, General Radahn is a formidable opponent.
Although it may seem extremely challenging to overcome such a powerful adversary, there is a solution to achieve victory despite the difficulty.
Although you are able to summon other characters, their role will primarily be to distract Radahn and inflict minimal damage. This will give you a brief window of time to strategize, so use it wisely when you require assistance. When there are no other players available, summon your horse Torrent as it will provide swift movement. Above all, make sure to keep your focus on Radahn at all times.
First Phase
At the start of the battle, Radahn will immediately shoot 3-4 arrows infused with magic. A single hit from these arrows can result in defeat. Therefore, it is crucial to either dodge roll through them or take cover behind any available weapons. Additionally, it is important to summon your allies while taking these defensive actions.
Radahn will then unleash a barrage of arrows, so be sure to stay on top of Torrent in order to swiftly dodge and avoid them.
Your summoned allies will confront Radahn and draw him into close combat. Strike while he is occupied with another fighter and avoid letting him focus on you. If he charges towards you, move away quickly. Eventually, this will lead to the start of the second phase for Radahn.
Second Phase
Once Radahn’s health drops below fifty percent, he will soar into the air. Keep an eye on the sky, as Radahn will descend like a fiery comet. Make sure to maintain a safe distance, or you risk being obliterated.
Thanks to gravity magic, Radahn’s power has increased even further.
Radahn will generate energy waves by swinging his sword from side to side. Be sure to jump over them to avoid getting hit. After that, he will summon large rocks that will hover by his shoulder. Eventually, a blinding light will engulf the rocks, signaling that it’s time to run for your life. Take cover behind the nearby mounds for protection.
Just like in the first phase, continue to attack Radahn alongside your allies. Keep delivering powerful strikes and eventually Radahn will be defeated. It’s important to remain patient as this is the key to success. After all, Starscourge Radahn is simply another boss.
