How to Easily Acquire Light Bulbs in Escape from Tarkov

Light bulbs may appear as standard loot in Escape from Tarkov, but their necessity can quickly escalate, especially during the early stages of a wipe. One of the primary reasons for collecting light bulbs is to upgrade the Illumination module in your hideout. Completing this upgrade is crucial as it unlocks further enhancements for your hideout, ultimately improving your overall gameplay experience. If you aim to gather a substantial amount of light bulbs efficiently, follow this guide to secure your supply within two to three raids.

Many players pursue electronic spawns across various maps, but Interchange stands out as the best location for light bulbs. This map features several shops specializing in electronic loot, all in proximity to one another, making it a hotspot for farming these items. The top locations for your loot expedition include:

  • Techlight
  • Texho
  • Rasmussen
  • TT
  • German

These stores are clustered closely together, allowing you to traverse them within 4 to 5 minutes. Keep in mind that due to their central location in the mall, this route can pose risks; running through open spaces may increase your chances of encountering PMCs (player-controlled characters).

To optimize your loot run, it is essential to spawn in advantageous locations. For example, a spawn near the garage entrance by OLI allows quicker access to Texho, Techlight, and Rasmussen. On the other hand, spawning by the bus stop in IDEA positions you closer to TT. However, beware; in this scenario, a PMC spawning from Scav Camp could reach TT quickly as well.

As you loot, maintain a swift pace and keep an eye on possible escape routes to maximize your chances of survival and success.

The primary function of light bulbs is within your hideout. To upgrade to Illumination level 2, you will need a total of 14 light bulbs that are marked as “found in raid.”Unfortunately, due to the recent changes, you can no longer purchase them from the flea market, which initially saw these items trading for 30,000 to 50,000 Roubles during early wipes. Consequently, players are now pushed to explore alternative money-making strategies in the game.

In addition to the light bulbs required for upgrading Illumination, you will need an additional five for both the Hall of Fame and Cultist Circle upgrades, as well as two for the Defective Wall at level 6, which unlocks the Gym feature. In total, expect to gather over 20 light bulbs solely for upgrading your hideout.
