On Threads, you can start following Instagram users before they even sign up for the new microblogging social network, and in this guide, you will learn how.
Although Threads is gaining popularity quickly, not every person you know, or service is yet available on the platform. However, since the Threads app is deeply tied to the Instagram app, Meta has added an option in the settings page that allows you to start following Instagram friends, creators, and brands before they even sign up for the new social network.
This guide will teach you the steps to follow users from Instagram before they even sign up for Threads.
Follow Instagram users on Threads
To follow Instagram users before they join Threads, use these steps:
-
Click the Profile button in the bottom-right corner.
-
Click the menu (two lines) button in the top-right corner.
-
Click the “Follow and invite friends” option.
-
Click the “Follow accounts from Instagram” option.
-
Click the “Follow” button for each of the Instagram accounts to follow once they are in Threads.
-
(Optional) Click the “Follow all” button.
Once you complete the steps, when the user joins Threads, your account will start following them automatically. In the case that the user joins the new platform but the account is set to private, the person will have to accept the request manually.
