This fan-favorite flying Pokémon from Hoenn can be caught in Pokémon Go. So here’s how to capture Tylton and whether this generation 3 Pokémon can be shiny or not.
Generation 3, introduced in the main games – Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, then Emerald – introduced 135 new Pokémon for trainers to discover, capture and train.
Years later, many of these Pokémon have won the hearts of fans with their design, playing a big role in Pokémon Go like Kyogre, Metagross, and Deoxys. Among them is Tylton, an adorable little bird who has the potential to mega-evolve into a powerful Dragon.
Here’s everything you need to know about Tylton, how to capture one, and whether it’s possible to find a rare shiny version.
How to capture Tylton in Pokémon Go
As is the case with most Pokémon, Tylton can be encountered in the wild. It can also appear in 1-star Raids and has been featured as a Special Research reward on several occasions.
Its spawn rate in the wild is significantly higher during events such as Weather Week 2024 as well as when windy weather is active in your area.
Can Tylton be shiny in Pokémon Go?
Just like its Altaria evolution, Tylton can appear in its shiny form. This has been the case since the Cotton Bird Pokémon was first introduced in Pokémon Go in February 2018.
Keep in mind that to evolve Tylton into Altaria you will need 400 candies, so those who want to evolve their shiny Tylton should also capture plenty of regular Tylton so they can immediately evolve it once a shiny variant appears.
