How to Grow Sapphire Gloom in Botany Manor

In Botany Manor, Sapphire Gloom is not a typical plant, but rather a type of fungus. Despite this, it plays a crucial role in breaking down a specific obstacle within the game. Here are the steps to growing Sapphire Gloom in Botany Manor.

The origin of Sapphire Gloom can be traced back to the Study room, which is accessible after successfully solving the Library code and symbol puzzles. The key to the secret Library room, where the Nightfall seeds are also located, is needed to cultivate this plant, but it is not yet ready for production.

The only two pieces of information needed for the Sapphire Gloom entry are the Tree Diseases and Mushroom Book notes, both of which can be located in the Study along with the Sapphire Gloom seeds.

According to the Tree Diseases book, Hypoxylon is a disease that results in black patches on a tree, indicating that it has withered due to dehydration and will not survive for long. On the other hand, the Mushroom Book states that the presence of mushrooms on a tree signifies that the tree is being consumed by them. However, a handwritten note on the page clarifies that this is not always the case.

Go to the front entrance planting station and use the seeds to prepare a pot of Sapphire Gloom. There is a large tree in the main lobby that has grown excessively, blocking a second-floor door and displaying multiple black patches on its trunk.

Place the plant at the bottom of the tree where the circular placeholder is located. This will lead to the growth of the Sapphire Gloom from the pot, which will eventually spread throughout the tree and move the tree branch that is currently blocking the door on the second floor. This process is crucial for completing the Sapphire Gloom and granting access to the Attic, which is essential for growing the Nightfall plant.
