How to Hyper Train in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: Bottle Caps & stats explained

Hyper Training has returned in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, and it is highly recommended for fans to prioritize Hyper Training their Pokemon. This will greatly enhance their IVs, making them more formidable in both competitive matches and Tera Raid battles.

Instead of utilizing Dynamax, trainers can engage in Tera Raids which pit them against incredibly strong Terastallized Pokemon. However, tackling Five and Six-Star raids may prove to be too daunting without taking necessary precautions beforehand.

Hyper Training is a highly effective method for quickly powering up a Pokemon for Tera Raids. By using Bottle Caps, players can increase their Pokemon’s base stats and IVs. This is possible for all species and eliminates the time-consuming breeding process needed to obtain perfect IV Pokemon.

Everything players of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet need to know about Hyper Training and acquiring Bottle Caps in the Paldea Region can be found below.

Pokemon Trainers will need to talk to the Hyper Trainer in Montenevera

To train Pokemon through Hyper Training in the Paldea Region, players must journey to Montenevera.

In contrast to previous games, where Hyper Training could only be accessed in buildings such as the Battle Tower, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet provides players with the option to utilize Hyper Training through an NPC situated next to the Pokemon Center.

The non-player character is located next to an Abomasnow and has a yellow, interactive speech bubble above their head. Players can simply speak to the NPC to participate in Hyper Training.

Bottle Caps in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

There are two types of Bottle Caps available: Silver and Gold.

The silver Bottle Caps are considered the norm, with each Hypertraining of a single IV requiring one Bottle Cap. Therefore, a total of six Bottle Caps is necessary to Hypertrain all six IVs of a player’s Pokemon.

Despite its rarity, a Gold Bottle Cap offers the opportunity to Hyper Train all six IVs with the cost of just one. It can greatly expedite the Hyper Training process, so it is advisable to save them for Pokemon that players are particularly keen on enhancing.

Where to find or buy Bottle Caps

There are various ways to acquire Bottle Caps in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, with the most convenient method being to purchase them from Delibird Presents. These valuable items come at a price of 20,000 Poke Coins or League Points per Bottle Cap. However, it should be noted that Gold Bottle Caps cannot be bought.

In addition, various locations in Paldea contain Bottle Caps that players can discover.

  • Bottle Caps – Naranja/Uva Academy, North Province (Area Two), Porto Marinada, West Paldean Sea, Mesagoza
  • Gold Bottle Caps – Orange/Grape Academy, Porto Marinade

The Porto Marinada auction offers both standard and Gold Bottle caps for purchase. These caps are randomly available for bidding, making it the perfect opportunity to acquire them.

Successful Tera Raids can also reward players with standard Bottle Caps. This applies to all Pokemon found in the Most Five and Six-Star Tera Raids.
