In Diablo 4’s fourth season, players can now upgrade their gear with improved stats without the need to replace it completely. This new method, known as Tempering, allows for easier upgrading of weapons and gear in Diablo 4.
Guide to Tempering Gear in Diablo 4
In Diablo 4, the Blacksmith in any of the towns is where players can temper their weapons and gear. This process is found in a separate tab at the Blacksmith, which has been made easier with the Season 4 update.
Gamers have the freedom to select any gear they wish to enhance with affixes and then choose which Temper Manual they want to use from one of the six relevant categories. Each manual comes with its own unique set of affixes that will be randomly bestowed upon the chosen weapon or gear.
The act of tempering will require a specific amount of material, which can then be confirmed. Affixed stats will be indicated by an anvil icon next to the gear’s description. These stats can be reset, but they must be from the same category.
How to Obtain Temper Manuals in Diablo 4
“One way to obtain Temper Manuals is by defeating monsters, as they can be found at random. These manuals will appear as an item in your loot inventory, and players can easily learn them by selecting the ‘Learn’ option and binding them to their character.”
All Temper Manuals are available in various rarities, with the Legendary Temper Manuals being more frequently found in higher World Tiers. Fortunately, the Blacksmith will prioritize the highest rarity of manuals in your possession, making the list significantly shorter. Similarly, the game will notify you if you already have a higher version of a manual when you learn a lower rarity one.
The most effective way to obtain numerous Temper Manuals is to gather Baneful Hearts and engage in grinding within the updated version of Helltides released in Season 4.
