How to Obtain Eelektross in Pokemon Go

How to Obtain Eelektross in Pokemon Go

Eelektross, a rare species in Pokemon Go, has earned a strong following among fans due to its prominent appearances in the Gen 5 games. As a result, many players are eager to utilize it in the Go Battle League (GBL) and Raids.

To obtain this Electric-type Pokemon, here are all the specifics, such as its evolution from Tynamo, suggested moves for both PvP and PvE battles, and its availability in shiny form.

Evolving Tynamo into Eelektross

It only takes 25 Candy to evolve Tynamo into Eelektrik, and an additional 100 Candy and a Unova Stone are needed to evolve it into Eelektross.

To evolve Eelektross in Pokemon Go, a Unova Stone is required, which is one of the few Gen 5 additions that necessitates its use. Here’s how to obtain one:

  • You can open the Research Breakthrough Box after completing Field Research tasks for seven days, even if you don’t register these tasks seven days in a row.
  • By defeating one of the three Team Leaders – Blanche, Candela, or Spark.

The Unova Stone cannot be guaranteed through either of these methods, so it is recommended to attempt them several times in order to increase your chances of obtaining it.

Eelektross’ stats in Pokemon Go are 217 Attack, 152 Defense, and 198 HP.

Best PvP Moves

The optimal PvP moveset for Eelektross at this time consists of Spark paired with Dragon Claw and Thunderbolt.

Spark provides significant energy advantages for this Pokemon, allowing it to efficiently utilize Dragon Claw and potentially force opponents to use their shields. This also poses a threat to the common Dragon types found in the Great and Ultra League.

Although Eelektross is not particularly bulky, it is still important to use multiple Dragon Claw attacks to break through the opponent’s shields and avoid taking damage. However, its stats are not strong enough to excel in the Master League.

Thunderbolt is the ideal move for Thunderbolt, as it gains STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) and has an impressive 90 damage output. It is most effective when used to KO targets with its high damage. It is recommended to save this Charged Move for when the opponent’s shields are down.

On July 21, 2024, during the Tynamo Community Day, Eelektross will gain the Fast Move Volt Switch in its moveset, enhancing its attacking capabilities. This will result in Eelektross becoming more effective in the GBL due to its faster energy gains, allowing it to use Dragon Claw more aggressively. However, this addition is not expected to significantly alter the meta.

Best PvE Moves

The most effective moveset for Eelektross in PvE battles is Spark paired with Thunderbolt.

Despite having an Attack stat of 217, it may not be the best choice for countering Flying and Water-type Raid Bosses. Alternatives such as Zekrom, Zapdos, Raikou, and various powerful Mega Evolutions are available and would be more beneficial to use.

Can Eelektross Be Shiny?

Yes, shiny Eelektross is not currently available, but it will be introduced for the first time during the Tynamo Community Day.

During the event, the shiny odds for encountering a Tynamo will be increased to 1 in 25 or a 4% chance. After the Community Day event concludes, the odds will return to 1 in 512, making this a prime opportunity to capture multiple shiny Tynamo.

Prior to the Tynamo Community Day, you will have the opportunity to participate in the highly anticipated Pokemon Go Fest 2024 event, where you can capture a plethora of new shiny Pokemon making their debut during this spectacular event.
