In order to fully equip yourself in Black Myth: Wukong, crafting will be a necessary task. Each weapon requires a specific recipe with a list of ingredients. While common items such as Silk are readily available, there are also rare materials that can only be acquired by defeating powerful Yaoguai leaders. Despite the challenge, the rewards of obtaining these items are undeniably valuable.
The Gold Tree Core is a scarce item that will become obtainable towards the conclusion of Chapter 4. It can be utilized for creating powerful weapons such as the Spikeshaft Staff and Spider Celestial Staff. There are four methods through which you can acquire it:
- After finishing Chapter 3.
- In Chapters 4 and 5, the goal was to defeat Yaoguai.
- At the conclusion of Chapter 4, be sure to open any rare chests that are available.
- You can buy it from Keeper’s Shrine.
How to complete Chapter 3?
Upon completing Chapter 3 in Black Myth: Wukong, players will be rewarded with their first Gold Tree Core.
How to Open Chests in Chapter 4
Towards the conclusion of Chapter 4, you will encounter a number of sealed chests. Make sure to search through as many of them as possible in order to uncover the Gold Tree Core.
Defeat Yaoguai Kings and Queens in Chapters 4 and 5
The Yaoguai Chiefs have a relatively high chance of dropping rare items. If luck is on your side, you will receive the rare item after just a few boss fights. However, if luck is not in your favor, you will need to defeat all of the bosses, including the optional and secret ones, in order to increase your chances. (It’s no surprise that this item is so rare!)
Visit the Keeper’s Shrine Store
Each Keeper’s Shrine has its own unique inventory, including the Gold Tree Core. However, this item can only be acquired after reaching Chapter 5 and it requires 900 Will. It should be noted that there is a limit to the number of times it can be purchased.
How to use Gold Tree Core?
The Spikeshaft Staff and Spider Celestial Staff can be crafted using Gold Tree Core.
The Spikeshaft Staff.
Spikeshaft Staff allows the user to briefly gain Focus continuously after Seeing Through the enemy.

- Gold Tree Core x4
- Refined Iron Sand x8
- 30000 Will
The Spider Celestial Staff is a powerful weapon.
After defeating the Violet Spider, this ability is unlocked. Every successful hit with a Heavy attack will increase Healing. While in the Poisoned state, it will also deal Poison Bane damage to enemies.
