The Destiny 2 August preview unveiled what Bungie has planned for the next Lightfall expansion, which includes a new locale in the shape of Neomuna, a secret metropolis on Neptune. Neomuna is populated by a new species known as Cloud Striders, who will train Guardians how to harness the powers of Strand in order to defeat the army of Calus and The Witness.
Apart from Destiny 2’s Exo Stranger’s companion, a fish-like creature, Cloud Striders have unique technology that was never displayed. In Lightfall, players will be able to get another piece of Neomuna technology: the Quicksilver Storm Exotic auto rifle, which this tutorial describes how to obtain early.
Quicksilver Storm was offered as a bonus for anyone who pre-ordered the Annual Pass edition of Lightfall (or the Collector’s Edition of the game) when Season of Plunder was published in August 2022. While this may appear to imply that the gun is no longer available to gamers that missed out, this is not the case. Quicksilver Storm may still be obtained, and this tutorial has been updated to reflect this. With the release of Lightfall, Destiny 2 players may now begin the search for the Quicksilver Storm catalyst. Here’s how to obtain Quicksilver Storm and the catalyst to level up this Exotic Auto Rifle.
How to Unlock Lightfall’s Exotic Auto Rifle Quicksilver Storm
To get the Quicksilver Storm Exotic in Destiny 2, players must first purchase the Annual Pass version of the Lightfall expansion, since the item is currently unique to that edition.
Players may purchase two separate Lightfall versions, with only two of them including the Quicksilver Storm auto weapon in early access. While the Destiny 2 Lightfall Standard Edition only includes the main expansion and a few cosmetic pieces, the new Exotic weapon can only be obtained by purchasing the Lightfall + Annual Pass version or the Collector’s Edition. The Collector’s Edition with a game code is no longer available on the Bungie Store at the time of this update.
Players may still purchase the Collector’s Edition, which does not include a game code. In such circumstance, gamers of Destiny 2 will not be able to get the Lightfall expansion or the Quicksilver Storm auto weapon. The non-game code edition is still available for $150.
Or, gamers can just wait until Season of the Deep (Season 21) comes later this year. Quicksilver Storm will be accessible to all players at this time.
How to Get the Quicksilver Storm Exotic Auto Rifle Redeemed
Players will be able to immediately redeem the Quicksilver Storm Exotic in Destiny 2 after purchasing the proper Lightfall version.
This is accomplished by visiting to the Tower and speaking with Master Rahool, who generally assists players in decrypting their Engrams.
If they have any remaining Prime or Umbral Engrams, they will be presented with an Engram screen, which may be closed to advance to the standard vendor screen for Master Rahool.
Destiny 2 players will be able to collect the numerous extra equipment obtained by purchasing the Lightfall expansion, including the Quicksilver Storm auto gun, at this location.
The weapon will have a power level of 1600, however players can infuse other weapons into it as usual.
Redeeming the Quicksilver Storm Exotic auto rifle is possible at any time, and regardless of Season, all players who purchase the Annual Pass edition of Lightfall will be able to receive this new unique weapon for free using the same approach.
Where Can I Obtain the Quicksilver Storm Catalyst?
After completing the Lightfall Campaign, Destiny 2 players will be able to pick up the quest for the catalyst at the terminal near Nimbus in Neomuna. The catalyst quest, like Quicksilver Storm, is only available to players who have purchased the Annual Pass edition of Lightfall. To get the catalyst, complete the quest stages (which can only be completed on Neomuna).
Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
