How to Obtain Loot Filters in Path of Exile 2

In the expansive universe of Path of Exile 2, the sheer volume of loot can be overwhelming. As you dive into juiced maps, it’s common for players to encounter a screen filled with nothing but text, making it essential to implement loot filters for a streamlined experience. This guide details the process of acquiring and installing loot filters to enhance your gameplay in Path of Exile 2.

NeverSink’s FilterBlade continues to be the premier resource for item filters, a legacy carried over from Path of Exile 1. After some months of dedicated work, the FilterBlade for Path of Exile 2 is now fully operational.

Keep in mind that post-release updates may take some time to roll out, particularly when new patches or seasons launch. Typically, expect an update a few days following the debut of significant content changes.

To get started, navigate to the FilterBlade website and log in using your Path of Exile account credentials. Make sure to switch the version to PoE 2, ensuring you are accessing the correct settings.

Once on the FilterBlade main page, you can customize your filters and presets. Utilize the adjustable slider to fine-tune your preferences, selecting from options such as normal, semi-strict, or strict settings.

The various filter settings may seem complex, but here’s a breakdown: selecting “normal”allows all items to drop, giving a baseline experience. The “semi-strict”option limits lower-value items while still allowing players to collect valuable in-between currency. Conversely, the “strict”filter ensures that only high-value items—generally worth one Chaos Orb or more—are visible, helping you to focus on more lucrative drops.

Remember, the higher you set the slider, the stricter your loot filter will be. Once you have configured a filter to your liking, you can save your settings or export them directly to your FilterBlade account, where they will be accessible in-game.

Once you’ve saved your chosen loot filter on FilterBlade, the settings sync using the Path of Exile 2 API, which means you only need to log into the game to access them.

Head to the options menu and click on the “Game” tab. Look for the “Item Filter” section under general settings. Here, you’ll find a drop-down text box alongside refresh and folder icons. If you’re utilizing FilterBlade, you can skip using the folder icon altogether.

Click on the text box to have the filters you saved on the website appear. Simply select your desired filter, and it will load immediately without the need to restart the game.

For players on consoles, the process remains largely the same, but remember that you will need to use a PC to initially create your loot filter on FilterBlade.
